One correction: Maria is a first soloist, not a principal dancer. She'll no doubt be elevated to principal, but there are other first soloists at the Mariinsky that are also potential principals.

To @ YuliyaKalugina yes Maria Khoreva's an excellent pianist 😊 at 10 or 11 she learnt to play Chopin: Impromptu No. 4 in C Sharp minor Op. 66 'Fantaise - Impromptu' and I reckon she makes a great pianist ❤ absolutely.

She is stunning, love watching her, love those turns. I have learned a couple of those variations, they are very challenging to do, let alone do with exceptional excellence. As a dancer, I do however find that little bourre that happens on the final sous sous right at the end quite encouraging, that even the very best are tired by the end of their variation.

I love her personality and of course her technique.But something is missing in her. I don't know maybe emotion maybe artistry. this is totally MY OPINION.I don't like watching her somehow... But she is an amazing dancer though. Btw , at 3:00 my favorite dance of her. her body and musicality matches totally like never have been. modern ballets look better on her for me. it fits. it gaves truly feels.

If I had to be her lawyer I would say that the she has been given are not very interesting. I mean aurora, paquita, raymonda or kitri are not interesting characters to me in those ballets it’s more about impressive technique. I don’t know how was her Giselle but I think her Nikiya is quite good. And she is young so I hope she will improve her interpretation.

Kitri is all about fire and energy. Aurora is all about innocence,purity and childhood. Raymonda is soooo noble and impressive. Etc etc

Theatral perception is very important for all ballets, only some of them are more important like you said Manon.I got your point my friend, also, romeo and juliet, othello, la dame aux camélias, la bayadere, Anna Karenina etc.
