Same problem here with Aldrich... he spams the rain of arrows and crystal spear projectile attack on my play through. I counted once he shot me with the spear projectile 15 times in a row once

@@ianjperry6772 Under the assumption that he has a 30% chance to fire off one of 3 ranged attacks then to fire off spear projectile 15 times would have mere .000000014% chance of occurring. This would occur once every 5 million boss battles against Aldrich and that being generous cause I don't feel like getting the accurate number. That's being said I don't know how much Aldrich's ranged attacks are affected by player actions at range, if the attacks share an equal 30% chance, or many other potential value that cause variances. I don't know cause I didn't worry about it, my strat was to stay at range as little as I could manage, run up and pierce a new asshole into him with lighting steak. Point being however, if you did dodge that spear projectile 15 times in a row you should count yourself very lucky and be very proud as well. On one hand you experienced what is likely and extremely unlikely event, even if one doesn't like the boss at least you can appreciate the sheer mathematical improbability. You were also able to face it well enough to see 15 happen in a row at the very least, personally I don't even know if I successfully dodged as many as half of them. If my build didn't happen to be well suited to dealing with him it might of taken several time more then the rough estimate of 6 or so attempts it took me.

Got her to "1 more hit with my sword" hp, no more estus, 65% hp. Ran out of space to roll away to and got killed by the long whirlwind combo. That was my first try. The closest I got after that was my fifth one where she was on 3 hits hp. Currently depressed and watching videos after my tenth attempt. Hopefully gonna get her in the next 5 tries. Gonna try shield and greatsword than shield and ss. Ultra greatsword and 2 handing greatsword didnt get it.

He gets such great rng. The boss has combo’d me for nearly a minute multiple times. The grab attack is horribly glitchy, and she is the worst boss in the game when it comes to getting hits in. Pontiff almost mandated having 2 or more summons to stand a reasonable chance and The Dancer has none to summon. Let’s all take a moment to remember the boss having unreasonable hit range and tilting on a dime.

She strikes on the off beat in a 3/4 time signature. Her feet coincide with the beat of the strings in her song. Her spin is on 1 and ends on 1 after 2 counts. She also telegraphs her plunging attacks on 1, but strikes on 2. Bursting on 3. I suggest playing a metronome when the music to the fight starts.

tried this fight probably 30 times today, not all in one sitting. Watched this and won after about another 9. I won with an 8th of my hp left and no estus left so there is still room for improvement. This video really helped, especially when I was watching you dodge and realised the reason I was getting hit so much was my tendency to always dodge back and away from the dancer. Your example showed me that with the wide slashing combos the closer you can get to the dancer, to roll around them, the better. Great video and an unforgettable boss fight.

I've already died like 15 times to her... My very first attempt was right after the boss battle against Yohrm, which was my most successful run against her so far. I just don't get the timing of her attacks in order to dodge them properly and the more I keep analyzing them the more difficult the fight seems to get for me. As I said my very first attempt was pretty good, having her down to like 10-15% of her overall health. Now I barely scratch her in her second phase before she completely obliterates me. Sometimes it's just better to go with the flow, unoccupied by any details. Well, too late for me. Gotta try it another 30 or so times, before eventually giving up. :P

Killed her on my 4th try. Good riddance. Try timing her crush attack (the one where she slams her weapon down in a vertical motion) and block. It'll net you a good few hits in and always roll behind her when she spins with her weapons. During phase 2 all I did was just stand all the way back, run in and attack and get the fuck out of there fast. After she does her spin thing just go up to her and try once again timing your rolls to dodge her attacks (easier said than done, I know). If you can't dodge her specifically hard attacks then what I would recommend is to keep running away until she does an attack that leaves her vulnerable for a longer period of time as opposed to her other attacks. Use gold pine resin or other resins if necessary. Good luck!

Hey!here are some other tips: -get the dark hand,she is weak to dark,and the hand is very fast and consumes little stamina -its difficult to hug the left leg,so just stay on the left side at a moderate distance -dont be greedy,even with the dark hand,you should get 1-2 hits x attack of the dancer,or she WILL smack you -the grab is a one shot attack,instead of dodging (either left,up,right) But back 1-2times -at last,be patient,when she starts attacking,dont panic doge Hope this helps!

They are tall and thin, with the lowest stagger resistance of any enemy. Weapons like the longsword work beautifully.

Best way to deal with the spin attack is to kite the dancer into one of the corners of the room. She'll get caught on one of the pillars and finish her combo while effectively stationary. Just make sure you don't get too close.

Got her on the eighth try. Was the most satisfying boss to fell so far. She really telegraphs those moves. Just stay focused. And roll your ass off! A little extra endurance doesn't hurt either.

Beat her today, somehow in one try. One of the best boss fights I've had in this game so far. Definitely up there with Pontiff Sulyvahn and the Abyss Watchers in terms of cool factor.

Theres a ring that allows you to get extra s from rolling, I suggest using it as it can help avoid her grab attack, and her swings

little tip: when the Dancer does the attack when she pushes her sword in the ground, you and use fireballs or soul arrows to do some extra damage

After fighting her for nearly 2 hours on PS4 and now seeing the comparison on PC...I have the feeling you can read her moves much easier with steady 60 fps. xD

Frame dips happen all the time on PS4/Xbox One. I'm on the Xbox and I would roll out of the way of her right arm grab and she will still get me because the frame drop delayed her attack. Really unfair lol.

uhm really good rng on her moves at the end in the video. if your having real trouble with her just keep medium distance from her until she makes on of the move in the video. the two sword slam on the ground and the two sword sweep from the ground give the best window of opportunity to deal some good damage. you can also bait the black aoe after them, but if you attack too long after that you'll be too close and if she does a long combo you'll be in trouble.

You made this look trivial brother. I like your commentary as well. I'm trying her early with a Wolf Knight's Greatsword +2. I only have 804 HP and 118 stamina, I should be OK after some practice.

Thank you for the the walkthrough, while it's certainly helpful and keeps me hopeful for the fight, I still this this boss is horrible. Ridiculous damage, hard reads, nigh-infinite combos; From went all out to make this boss as bullshit as possible just like Pontiff. Creating a DS boss is probably no easy feat, making a balance between challenging, fair, and fun, but the Dancer and Pontiff are only one of those things with bullshit and cheap as the other two. Sorry for the rant, again, thank you for this walkthrough.

Here’s where they fucked up with DS3, enemies can hardly miss, they start their attack in one direction and then rotate to wherever you rolled to between when their animation started and the end. It’s bullshit.

Try killing her on soul level 1, I've been trying to kill her for two days now.

Playing as patches, sl < 50 It's not easy, but you can get close pretty easily with a +4 sharp infused uchigatana (dropped by swordmaster in firelink). Be sure to onehand the katana, as twohanding will drain too much stamina. Buff with human pine resin (sold by unbreakable patches) and hit 2-3 times before preparing to dodge. After each combo hit 2-3 times and repeat. If she is walking around between attacks, cling to her thigh; once your stamina has recovered, attack once and then keep following. Attack about once every 8 seconds until she attacks, then repeat the strategy.

I fought this boss so much that I was able to bring her down to half easily without taking hits. It was the freaking second phase that I could not get past. Finally I tried something I once used in Bloodborne on a boss. I went into the second phase and unlocked the camera from the boss. Then I waited for her to execute an attack, rolled through the attack (usually towards her or to her right), and punished. Rinse and repeat and this boss was a cakewalk. Hopefully this helps someone!

Beat it using Pyromancy. Wasn't hard that way. Columns helped also to give you a few second to heal and use Estus. She doesn't move very fast which helps also.

Thanks for this guide, my problem was that I wasn't being patient. The trick really is to only attack once or twice and then prepare for her next counterattack. Good luck to everyone who's still struggling like I was :)

I attempted this boss at around level 7 and quickly decided to come back after playing the game for a while as I wasn't doing much damage. I am now level 67 and STILL I DO FUCK ALL DAMAGE! Even with an upgraded sword with lighting damage.

when her HP was below 20% it feels like you have no more estus window. just like everyone, i've always first tried every boss until old demon king (except iudex gundyr which i died twice to). until i find the game is too easy so i tried fighting dancer earlier at SL60. took over 20 retries, but the reward was not disappointing.
