I had the privilege of seeing Ten perform Dream in a Dream live. It was a breathtaking study in the art of movement. SuperM was my first kpop concert, and I had no idea what to expect. We may not be able to see Lay and Ten perform together anytime soon, but there’s a live performance with Ten and Shownu of Monsta X that’s pretty amazing. Always enjoy your breakdowns!

I'm not a dancer but I really appreciate it and one of the main things i truly enjoy about Kpop mv, is the choreography. This has to be one of the best dance practice videos I've seen. Ten performed a bit of this song on Great Dance Crew and he promised we'd get the mv when he got back to S. Korea. He did not disappoint but the mv really shows how much work he puts in and I'm glad people are appreciating it.

@Avril Smith no, people think that because Kai is a favourite of SM. If you see SM's history, they always pick favourites and dont let others shine so their favourites won't be overshadowed. The favourites are not always the best, just promoted more and put in the centre so the public thinks they are. E.g. Ten is the best dancer in NCT but Taeyong is always promoted so people think he is NCT's best dancer. It's all media play to the detriment of the actual best. SM is also racist so oppresses foreign members.

I do wish sometimes they would focus more on choreography instead of worrying about their vocals for live performance, like don’t even lipsynch or worry about it if you’ve got a fire choreo. As someone that’s still relatively new to K-pop I don’t really understand the obsession with doing both. Like they really being pushing themselves so hard to do both and then collapse in need of oxygen tanks as soon as they get backstage. I agree with some of the others that Taemin is missing from that theater performance (please Move and Advice dance practices 🤞). Also, I was thinking if you were to watch some m/v’s with Carter Jackson Wang would be a fun option. 100 Ways and Blow don’t have the most complicated choreography but the director is also a dancer so I like the way he captures it 💜

Ten had knee surgery some years ago. And he was a b boy when he was younger actually before he debuted and after he did quite alot of b boying. Man's aces dance styles. He also went to a performing arts school so there's that and did ballet when he was younger too. Um Lay and Ten dancing together dude that would be insane to see.

Ten is a star. He was born to perform. In my opinion, he's the best in the industry. Of course there's a lot of talented people in kpop (and I'd like to mention Taeyong, Mark Lee, Taemin and Kai [SM biased maybe? lol]. They're SO good) but what he's been doing is just another level. And the idea of getting Lay and Ten performing together, oh my lord, that was brilliant. I would pay all the money in the world to watch it. Simply iconic!

I have been waiting to get your perspective on this choreography! I am amazed by your candor & grace & honesty! I do not like to use the word bias in this genre. I know I'm late to comment but u mentioned u would love to see Ten and Lay together well u can on a show called Street Dance of China where Lay is one of the Dance Captains along with, Jackson Wang, Henry Lau, Wang Yibo and many more and on Season 4 Ten is a guest Dancer. It's an international Dance competition show where each dance captain chooses type of dance, theme as well as dancers from all over the world compete against each other. Along with fun game moments too. It's an addictive show. They have dancers from France, Japan, Germany etc. Of course Lay is known as the Krumping King on the show LOL!

Ten isn't freestyling, the choreographers are Bada Lee and JRIK. There's a behind for when he was rehearsing the choreo with them, if you're interested. This piece was created with Ten's abilities and style specifically in mind, I believe. Read somewhere that Bada said only Ten could pull this off to this degree, or something like that. (I think she was referring to other idols ofc.)

Love watching Ten. Thanks for the reaction also. I will point out that the two solo sections are not actually freestyles, they're part of the choreography. Some people will think that's a diss but actually I think it takes a ton of skill to make a dance look as if you're just feeling the music, instead of thinking about the next move. Can't wait to see more of his stuff. Edited to add: The choreographer is Bada Lee, she's done a lot of work with SM, and with NCT specifically.
