Lol I love how she says it's considered the number 1 studio in the U.S.... soooo not true. What about Club Dance? Mather Dance Company? Elevation? West Coast School of the Arts? Murrieta Dance Project? Danceology? Prodigy dance and PAC? Elite Danceworx? Stars? Westside dance project? MBA?? Dance industry? Larkin dance studio? soooo many more studios, all wayyyy better than JPD. Kaylee's the best kid they've had in a while

***** Actually, they don't go to any respected nationals as a team. The top competitive studios take their teams to The Dance Awards, or at least Velocity or NYCDA. but to be respected, you have to attend and do well at the dance awards. Any other nationals are incredibly easy to win, because all the best studios are at TDA

Alyssa Swift Yes! This is so true! The ballet technique at JPD is nothing compared to the studios you mentioned, and JPD would be eaten alive at TDA.

I've been dancing competitively for 12 years and I've seen this studio a few times and yes they are amazing dancers, but they shouldn't refer to themselves as the top studio in the US. Mathers, Club, Dance Precisions are among the elite studios. I also have never heard of Kiara before this show.

Amaijah Ibrahim No. they're about the same technique wise. JPD has better turns, aldc has better lines. JPD might be a little better, but they're both pretty average.

Nah JPD is pretty elite. They've been nominated for multiple awards and the dancers are some of the best.

I hate it how on every dance show they act like Nationals is the only Nations. Every comp has a nationals and they are all around the same time so the top studios often aren't even competing against each other at nationals.

Just Plain Dancin' was extremely popular on KZbin like five or six years ago but they really aren't relevant anymore. There are so many better studios. Yes they have good dancers but they don't have amazing technique or choreography. They also are considered pretty old school now. Mather Dance Company or Club Dance produces the most well rounded dancers in the country and are much more prominent studios now. Just Plain Dancin' has kind of had it's time... You never hear about them anymore.

I can't help but notice the similarities between cheer and dance. I think anyone who gets into either sports must be someone who is very dedicated.

Yeah I noticed it too. I do competitive cheerleading and I can't hang out sometimes with my friends because I have practice three times a week. It's also hard to juggle school work Sometimes I get home so late sometimes I get home at like 11. But my team and everyone at my gym is like my second family. I love cheer and I don't know what I would do without it. This is only my second year and I'm on a level three team. I recently moved gyms so it's jar to know that I will be competing against some of my closest friends but at the end of the day I know that I had fun doing it :)

hope raymo I'm a competitive swimmer and I train 6 days a week. Some days I have doubles, meaning before school practice and after school practice. Almost every weekend is a swim meet. Swim meets are 2-4 days long. School is such a struggle. Ughhh..

They are basing that off of an article Dance Spirit Magazine put out a few years ago that labeled JPD as #1 ranking studio. No one just randomly labels themselves as #1, so no need to get upset. JPD just wants to share their love of dance with everyone.

Just a question for everybody, is that the new way to do your port de bras when doing a pirouette? because I was taught for my hands in first position not to touch but be a little apart from each other...also I noticed they wind up a lot on their turns ...just wondering :)

I love this series so so so so so much!!!! It's awesome! It is such a blessing to be able to dance at JPD with these amazingly talented seniors! I was so inspired by the seniors when I had to step in for another dancer! I spotted myself in the back a couple times ;) Hopefully I will be featured in the other episodes to come! Everyone needs to stop comparing their pirouettes to Sophia Lucia's. As if the amount of turns you can do dictates how good of a dancer you are. I'm sick of watching dance videos and all the comments are always like "Sophia could do better" or "Maddie from dance moms could beat her any day" why can't people just stop comparing each dancer for once and enjoy the artistry. Everyone's has their own strengths and weaknesses as dancers along with their own style. And if you're going to just watch dance videos to comment "how much better Sophia is and she's younger" you obviously have no respect for other artists so you shouldn't even be here commenting lol.
