My favourite thing about Psy’s dances are how visual they are. Within one watch, you can imitate the main moves even if you’re not 100% correct. It’s so cool!

The way PSY dances may seem to others “unsophisticated”, but he really knows how to hook his audience with entertaining, yet complex movements. Appreciate how they (and all steezy videos) educate us on the dancers who created the dancers and call out that it’s important to learn about the culture and context from which they originate. As a fellow nerd/geek, love that they’re both un apologetically dance geeks! It’s so cool to watch and learn from them. Also a fan of how big of a K-pop fan Dom layered on her immense dance knowledge-her reactions are so pure haha. Thank you for your comment on context, history and culture behind dances! I recently took a house dance class and learned so much about where the form came from. When we’re watching folks on social media or commercial/popular artists perform these dances, oftentimes it is removed from the original context. I appreciate your call out to that. My go to is a wine! You can roll your hips to almost anything, and it’s good for a quick wake-up to my hips and back in the morning.

PSY is the most engaging and lovable entertainer! He creates magic! Many years ago, when PSY performed Gangnam style, I was attending a California high school football game, and the pre-game was a game of grade school boys. The game paused for a few minutes after a play, and over the loudspeaker, Gangnam Style began to play. Suddenly, all the tiny football players on the field began to dance the moves to the song.I did not know what was happening, but when the referee signaled for the game to continue, the players kept dancing! It was a fun moment for everyone in attendance. The power of dance and PSY spread across the world in a joyful way and I am happy to see PSY is still giving us a reason to smile and dance for the fun of it! PSY and SUGA created something, together, that all ages can enjoy. The choreography fits the joyful message of the song.
