Those early years were amazing! Things got a little tender and sappy over the years but he and the band have certainly maintained their integrity. How fortunate for you to have seen this from the start, 85 was the year I was born!

I remember U68,that was very cool.I remember also channel 59 and 63 where in the early 80s they had the first video starting at roughly 8am and the last one at midnight.They would have Cinemattractions at least 3 times a day.You would be shown a clip from a movie and asked a question. The person that called with the correct answer would win a prize.Example,they had one from "The Heavenly Kid".now the question was "How many cigarettes landed on the pizza?I was over anxious and said 4".Very close,but it was actually 3.Disappointed ,prize was camping equipment. Now,most,if not all would have singer or group name ,the song and record company.All info for each in the bottom left corner of the screen ,for instance,Sheena Easton,Sugar Walls, EMI.A video could be shown without the info e.g.PRince and the Revolution ,"Automatic ".

On top of being a really great guy, he OOZES sexuality, and I ❤️ his voice!

I've been reading some of these old comments and it dismays me that so many compared him to Elvis. Chris is one of a kind. In his own category. So why did I, in 2021, just discover him? I'm pretty sure I wasn't living under a rock. Wasn't he promoted (another word for worked to death) well when he first started? Regardless, he's got a fantastic voice and is talented beyond belief! I'm sorry I missed him "back in the day".
@marchi.fleming2 жыл бұрын
I know I'm in the minority here but Elvis never did a thing for me, in any aspect. Chris **is** one of a kind. The fact he *looks* like the clean-cut, All-American boy-next-door type, but just under the surface is all this dark, gritty underbelly - but also totally tongue-in-cheek - vibe is what makes him **wholly** original. 👍🏼
@MeatyControllerАй бұрын
The problem is the marketing of popular music. Most will try to sell you a face before they sell you the actual product. Consequentially, many people who consume music only do so at face value (pun intended lol) It reminds me of when Oasis got big because people began to compare them to The Beatles. An utterly ridiculous comparison because they're nothing alike. Liam Gallagher simply had a mop top. Chris and Elvis are nothing alike.

I first saw the band at a college bar in Virginia back in the 80's. I think the Silvertone album had not been out long. Obviously, the show was perfect. it was a small venue but the sound they made was incredible. Of all the comments I hear about the voice, the band, his looks and hair, one major thing is overlooked... his sense of humour! He said so much hilarious stuff between songs that you are convinced if his couldn't play music, he could easily have been a comedian. Also, take a look at his nose, the man was an accomplished boxer too! Point is he is a man's man, great guy, super talented and good hearted. Mondo props to him and the Silvertones.
