Really excellent video and results, Teri! Thank you for sharing all your methods and your gorgeous soap! Do you think the pink got better glycerin rivers because you mixed the TD with water? Or was that just the initial TD that you added and the majority of the rest was mixed with oil?

Thank you Amy! I really don't know. Maybe it has to do with the amount of TD used. I will be interested to see what everyone else finds out.

Hi..Love your videos..I'm wondering why you don't use a hand held blender for coloring the powder for colorant and your oils? Or, you could make your base, separate them into containers, then add colors to the base with hand held mixer??? Just curious
@TreeMarieSoapworks4 жыл бұрын
The blending causes acceleration and I don't want that. When I premix them, they only need to be stirred in, which keeps my batter fluid longer.
@mignonnesvenezvoirsi63684 жыл бұрын
You are so patient and you managed to keep going slowly through all the process. Beautiful! Is your TiDi water dispersible or oil dispersible ? There are different types of glycerin rivers. I would say that those are caused by TiDi rather than water... just a guess!
@TreeMarieSoapworks4 жыл бұрын
Thank you, I do love meticulous projects once and awhile. For this recipe, I used TD dispersed in water, but I wasn't happy with the way it mixed in. I usually disperse it in oil, but I was trying to get glycerin rivers here, so the water was supposed to help. Well, glycerin rivers are easier to see in the TD, but higher water and a prolonged gel period contribute to glycerin rivers. What happens is, as the soap cools, the color migrates to the warmer parts, and it leaves a trail of colorless soap behind.
@kaiabutsky4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing your process. I just started playing with making my own soap and hope to someday try your more advanced techniques. You mentioned you liked your stick blender, what brand do you use? Would you recommend it for long blending times? I made my first liquid soap and it took a while to come to the required trace (about 15 minutes). I had to stop and whisk by hand as my blender was getting way too hot! Do you think the type you use would last?
