He's written loads of stuff with Old Crow Medicine Show (notable the greatest hustler of all, next go 'round, crazy eyes, that evening sun, James river blues). He's done solo stuff like Gallow Pole etc and a lot of early 1900s folk covers. He does indeed have a lovely voice.

They don't want real folk out there. Old Crow didn't get much airtime beyond Wagon Wheel and they sold out once Willie left and still get little radio plays. Willie Watson is a dying breed that makes me proud to belt out lyrics to good moutain folk evertime I get the chance.

Saw him with Old Crow in Manchester ten years or so. I always look out for the tracks that he sings lead on their cds. This is magnificent. I am just catching up with him again. I would definitely go to see him if he comes over here again.

I feel bad for not liking the original. The industry hasnt been kind to that girl so i dont say hate necessarily. I just felt it was such a serious song it shouldnt have been a dance song even it thats what it was about i guess. But im a nerd so this is the version i find most moving.
