Ah, also whilst the English counter-armada failed to achieve anything in the short term the disruption caused to spanish military equipment shipping made it easier for the dutch to revolt. secondly the capture of cadiz in a second Anglo-Dutch raid was far more successful. Oh, and don't forget the two subsequent spanish armadas which both got wrecked in storms, if I were Elizabeth and I heard my enemies fleets were destroyed without having to challenge them I'd be dancing too.

@Dragosus4 жыл бұрын
@@peterlee277 I don't see how any of that has anything to do with the Anglo-Spanish war. Though, the Brits effectively had their hand tied behind their backs as they were dicking about in Europe with most of the army at the time of the second Jacobite rebellion. Despite this the Jacobites invaded, retreated and then got rinsed by a British army. And on the American Revolution it wasn't just "some farmers", it was farmers heavily supported by France and somewhat by Spain. France bankrupted themselves in the process leading to everyone's favourite French emperor and the Spanish empire didn't last much longer.
