A lot of the claw machines are more about using one side of the claw to nudge/knock the item over.. not really picking them up. There are a very few that picks up and those ones you have to keep playing until “payout” and then the grip will tighten on the prize and pull it to the opening

I do understand the complaints about too much packaging, but for me, I actually like candy and snacks packaged this way; it prevents spoilage or going stale. If I open a package of snacks here, the whole thing is open and I have to either eat more (uh oh!) or put them into a container to preserve them. I love Japanese snacks that are individually packaged so that I don't have to worry about wasting any, or even touching any loose candies or snacks inside. Yeah, it's a lot of plastic, but it keeps fresher, and is safer to touch. Also, they are very easy to give out as little gifts that way!

To all the people complaining about the amount of packaging waste japan has fantastic recycling initiative so the amount of actual waste is minimal
@Midnight994 ай бұрын
This is unfortunately a myth. They have great SORTING initiatives but a very limited amount of what gets sorted can eventually be fully recycled. Much is exported to other countries to be burned or put into landfils or oceans
@gummycats4 ай бұрын
yeah plastic recycling isn't really.. A Thing like companies try to act like it is. it's extremely expensive and only certain kinds of plastic can be recycled. even when they are they only see 1-2 more lives after.
@yamato30894 ай бұрын
It is similar to Germany Since I come from Germany I can tell you what it is like there We often hear that a lot of things are recycled and that new plastic things are made from recycled plastic But how much is actually recycled is unclear For example, our deposit system that America does not have We buy water bottles and then when we have drunk the water bottles empty we can put them in a deposit machine There you get 25 cents per bottle If you return four bottles you will receive 1€ It drives you not to throw away the bottles but to put it in the machines and get some money back The bottles in the machines are then recycled into new bottles or plastic bags But how much is actually recycled is unknown
@vomm4 ай бұрын
Even if this would be true, other countries also have fantastic recycling but also reduce the amount of packaging. Because recycling also produces waste and co². And besides that it's better for the consumers not to get tricked into buying too much air, so it's not only about waste but consumer protection

In general, it's crazy big outer packaging, a lot of plastic bags and very little edibles. This had been prohibited in Sweden. It's called misleading marketing. This when you make people believe that it is more than what you actually get.
