Orange "fruit slices" were one of my favorite candies as a child. In the US, you can also find them in lemon, lime, and other fruit flavors.

@@slubfarm Honestly depends on your taste. I personally adore the taste of plain mooncakes or the ones with a yolk in the center of it but dislike the one's that have nut fillings. But yeah they are so high in calories :')

@@slubfarm it depends on the type of mooncake and the filling there's 3 different styles of crust and they can be filled with almost anything but there are only a few traditional fillings available in Asian markets and the most common one is the one I really don't like lol. But they are seasonal check Asian markets in August.

I love mandarim oranges! One of my aunts used to have an orange tree, unfortunately most time they only grew in the winter, so we could barely enjoy its freshness in a hot summer, and they have different names here! Some people (like me) call it "Mexerica", some calls it "Tangerina" and there's a few who calls it "Bergamota", it's so fun to know that they represent gifting gold to your loved ones!

I remember our neighbours delivering us plates of these treats. It was such a wonderful experience for us Australians to have! Ba kwa was an interesting taste- originally I thought it would be more savoury like beef jerky :-)

I use to make the peanut puffs (gok jai) with my grandmother and I tried making the Honey Hole cookies too. Took a few attempts but i got it right! Grandma passed away and I still make these cookies from time to time. Most requested cookies from my kids! A lot of work. Gung Hay Fat Choy, Sun Nin Fai Lok!

The preserved fruit box reminds me of the snack/candy platter my family has during Chinese New Year. We have this box with 7 compartments, and every year we would buy candy and traditional snacks to put in it. It’s fun filling them up (and also fun eating the candy)

It’s interesting to see mandalina (mandarin oranges) as a unique snack. We eat more than 2 a day for the whole winter season in Turkey (5-6 months)

@@bilgenoguz5307 temperature ranges play a big part. I live in an area called the Evergreen state for it's lush forests, but we can't grow most citrus fruits outdoors due to our winters. Southern California is about the closest place that can, and they're around 1200 miles (or roughly a 20 hour drive) away

11:48 in the philippines, we coat it with egg and immediately fry it. the crispy layer of egg takes me back to my childhood and is still one of my favorites to this day.

My mom use to give us money like this. My grandma was half Asain and Scottish. I kept the envelopes she put the money in. She always made sure people had full stomach and felt loved before leaving our home. I remember having to take off my shoes at the front door and having slippers for walking in the house. My friends thought it was funny and odd but cool.

Loved seeing mrs and mama bacons in here this video. Where I live we have a couple of shops that sell chocolate coins year round 😀 it’s a favorite summer treat for us to put in the freezer then later unwrap the frozen coins. Happy New Years!
