And now with the DCEU officially over and The Marvels out now, I think it’s time to officially put this debate to rest. Lets talk about why Superman vs Captain Marvel isn’t even close - and maybe how it never was...

Anyone familiar with cannon knows that Superman’s punch can shatter reality. So when Zod punches him, Superman survives a reality breaking event. This is a man that tows GALAXIES. Lifts 4 quintillion tons without breaking a sweat with one hand, and once accidentally sneezed a galaxy out of existence. The amount of mental gymnastics I just had to watch made me sick.

Carol Danvers is a human being that got her powers from an alien ship, as for Superman he flew right up under the world engine while it was active destroying the planet and put it out of commission, and if Captain Marvel blasted Superman with her power the only thing she is doing is powering him up, she gets her power from star, Superman powers up from the Sun, so I have to give it to Superman.

Her powers are not sun based, is cosmic based, thanks to the Space Stone, and even if we did say she has sun powers, Superman for an unknown reason can only absorb solar energy from the stars/sun, we have never seen him absorb Heat Vision from other Kryptonians, and Heat Vision is just concentrated solar lasers, which is explains why Superman’s Heat Vision isn’t simple and straightforward in a way like Homelander’s or Cyclops, his looks uncontrollable and a mess, but makes sense both with him and Tyler’s in Superman and Lois, but specifically with Henry’s, he shoots concentrated solar energy from his eyes. And if he did shoot her with Heat Vision, she can just absorb it back just like Thor’s lightning and the Infinity Stones

I believe arguing for captain marvels durability in a fight is weird or just pointless since she can absorb energy and I also believe that captain marvel only has MFTL travel speed not necessarily combat and reaction speed as Clarks more consistent with that.Anyway I think the fight would probably start out similarly as it did with Thor when he hit her with his lightning and she absorbed it Clarks also gonna hit her with his heat vision but the moment he realises she can absorb and redirect it he's going to start using physical force which captain marvel can't absorb.

1: DCEU Superman’s Strength: He separated the Mother Boxes. Flash used the speed force and transferred all energy to Cyborg. If you don’t remember, Flash enters the speed force at the end of the Synder Cut, reversing time to save the Justice League. Still with the energy Cyborg was only able to break unity. Time and space are 4D, speed force exists beyond it means speed force is 5D. The speed force is the name given to an extra-dimensional plane of existence. Barry Allen possess a connection to this plane, granting him access to his metahuman speedster powers. Speed force can destroy the whole multiverse. Speed force could only break unity not separate them, if Flash was using even 1% of speed force that scales to universe level because there are infinite universes in a multiverse. (Separation>Unity>Universal) But Superman bare handedly separated mother boxes and then it was later on revealed that he didn’t just separate them, he destroyed them. This is confirmed when DeSaad said to Darkseid (My master now that the Mother Boxes have been DESTROYED what will you do). When the Justice League had one Mother Box. There was a conversation between Wonder Woman & Cyborg that went something like this. Cyborg: They brought at the STAR Labs where my father recognised it as a PERPETUAL energy matrix. Wonder Woman: Mother Boxes are indestructible living machines. Cyborg: My father thought it was the key to unlimited energy. Mother Boxes have infinite energy which scales to high-universal and by applying neutrons third law mother boxes on should have infinite durability then, so Superman destroying mother boxes makes Superman’s strength high-universal. 2: DCEU Superman’s Durability: He resisted the anti-life equation. Zack Synder’s Justice League storyboards of the original synderverse. Zack Synder in explaining Knightmare timeline stated Superman to resist anti-life equation. Superman’s powerful will resisted the equation, but when his pregnant lover Lois Lane was killed during the invasion, the damage to Superman’s psyche left him vulnerable and he became susceptible to the overload’s influence, allowing Darkseid to use a transformed Superman as his new champion to rule over the planet. If you don’t remember this conversation between SteppenWolf and DeSaad. SteppenWolf: Before mighty Darkseid came to thrown he searched the universe for the ultimate weapon. The Anti-Life Equation. The key to controlling all life and all will throughout the MULTIVERSE. DeSaad: The story of the defiance is well known. DeSaad stated anti-life equation to be Multiversal and could take down any being throughout the multiverse. This means Superman’s more durable than any other being in the multiverse. Superman’s durability Multiversal level. 3: DCEU Superman’s Speed: He reacted to the Flash. The Flash had a blueish tinge around him. This means Flash was blueshifting during the scene. For a moving object to create an appreciable redshift or blueshift requires some pretty serious speeds. To get just 1% change in the frequency of light, a star had to be moving 1,864 miles per second. For a blue lightbulb to look red, it would have to be flying away from you at 3/4 of the speed of light. To blueshift or redshift you need to be 3/4 or 75% speed of light. Superman overpowered this speed of Flash. So Superman’s speed is faster than 75% speed of light and Superman frozen Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Cyborg with his speed. Wonder Woman was causally reacting to parademoms plasma beams. Plasma lasers were stated to be as fast as speed of light means Wonder Womans reflexes are faster than light. Aquaman was able to react on Black Mantas heat vision. This means Aquamans reflexes are to speed of light. Cyborg was able to react on Superman’s heat vision. But Superman froze them (as I just mentioned they have faster than light reflexes) with his speed for which it means Superman’s speed/reflexes to Massively Faster Than Light. 4: DCEU Superman’s Attack Potency: Superman beat Flash. Flash can run fast enough to break through the fabric of space-time continuum, enabling him to travel forward or back in time to monitor or alter past events. Flash notably went back in time a few minutes, to help Superman and Cyborg stop the unity in time and alter, with the help of Cyborg’s calculations, the Flash from an alternate future traveled back to warn Batman of the potential danger Darkseid poses, showing Bruce a vision of the Knightmare future. The Flash reversed time and space at universal level two times. In The Flash movie Bruce says to Barry, you could also destroy everything. Bruce mentioned Flash has the potential to destroy everything (multiverse). Superman beat the Flash means Superman upscales the Flash who has the potential to destroy a multiverse and for which superman’s attack potency is multiverse level. Superman>Flash>Multiverse Conclusion: Strength: High-Universal level (low balled) Durability: Multiverse level (mid balled) Speed: MFTL (high balled) Attack Potency: Multiverse level+ (mid balled) DCEU Superman wins.

Capt. Marvel is exactly. What's wrong with the mcu. They had to write a character that has no weaknesses, and that means us the audience has no worries or anything to get behind. That's why the big 3 of marvel are so well liked and loved. People can generally relate to them. Thor is a legit God, but yet we watched him struggle, and we felt what he was going through at the time.

I’ll say that for now what we have seen on screen is a lot more powerful than what we have seen on screen for Superman but if we are talking about comics I’m going Superman all the way. Who knows maybe the next Superman movie will show Superman on screen instead of on Pages being just as powerful if not more powerful than Captain Marvel on screen. I’d say it’s a pretty good chance. Key to the state is the perfect balance of a perfect superhero. The end all be all superhero.😂

In the cinema, Superman is relatively inexperienced. He is limitless, but needs to learn and convince himself that he truly has no limits. Once he believes he can do it, then it is possible for him. He has crazy growth rate. In the cinema, we watched him learning about his capabilities, and know that he is genetically modified to have higher mental and physical ability that will grow infinitely. For example, we never really saw the speed he was capable of until he saw the Flash using his speed. Superman learned that he was capable of going that fast. And overcame Flash. He learned he could absorb power from the sun by hanging in space when fighting Doomsday. Captain Marvel is relatively experienced in the movies. But she can't do jack against Thanos. She did better against him than the Hulk, but still was on the losing end of the fight. Superman would have beat the snot out of Thanos who was effectively a motionless statue in front of him. Killed him with laser eyes to the brain. Against her, if Superman could bring himself to be ruthless, he'd just come up behind her and snap her neck like he did Gen Zod. She's too slow to even know he was there. He doesn't need anything else. Yeah I know, "Captain Marvel flew Iron Man's ship at light speed" But in a fight? My two cents. The way I understand it, Superman gets his powers from light from yellow sun. He is solar powered. So, like solar panels, he needs direct sun LIGHT to repower. Which is why he does so in space:direct sunlight, not the radiation. So, in my mind, the question of whether Captain Marvels' powers would give him more power would depend on composition of that light. As for who would win, while I'm by no means an expert (who really is) doesn't Superman always rise to the level of whatever the threat is he is facing? Honestly, and I admit my bias, I PERSONALLY think he would win. But, ultimately, it would be determined by whomever writes the story. 😊

I get this comparison. It's movie version of each. Superman has been in 3 movies and Ms. Marvel has been in 4. Superman has never been able to truly shine in those movies, where Ms. Marvel has. We all know, if we compare comic book characters of each one Ms. Marvel would lose and it wouldn't be even close.
