What you failed to consider was Thanos ' intelligence, he's the guy who literally outsmarted the entire universe on more than one occasion. No matter how powerful, Gorr is a simpleton by comparison. Some clever manipulation and Thanos wins with minimal effort on his part. MCU Thanos I'm not so sure about, but I'd still back him over any single opponent.

Thing is, we didnt see most of the Necrosword's ability in the movie cuz its literally powerful in the comic. Thanos might be intelligent, but Gorr with his shadow teleportation would give thanos a headache. Gorr has more advantage in a 1v1 fight.

Pretty close fight. Gorr can probably restrain thanos or outright decapitate him with the necrosword, but thanos can do the same as well ,unless Gorr abuses teleportation. They are pretty relative in terms of strength. Love and thunder confirmed thor was weaker in endgame.However, even back then thanos had trouble overpowering him with one arm. Gorr is slightly stronger or equal to awakened thor ,who should be comparable to thanos. The god butcher wins more times than not !

I disagree with this battle and the outcome man. You forgot that Thanos is highly intelligent and the use of the Infinity Gauntlet has a whole range of abilities and powers too. Plus Gorr's sword needs to kill and absorb the life forces of gods in order to get stronger. Thanos on the other hand can find a number of ways to separate Gorr from his sword in oder for him to nail the final killing blow to the God Butcher. WatchMojo also pointed this thing out too, even if Thanos doesn't have the Gauntlet with him, he can still find a number of ways to separate Gorr from his sword and to defeat him once and for all. With all do the greatest level of all respect Danco as much as I still love watching all of these great Vs. battles, Thanos can still defeat Gorr for good.

Gorr is one shot character, you can't take his weapon, its a part of his standard gear. Thanos on the other hand had gauntlet as a one shot story arc, it's not a part of his standard gear. Fanatics always speak about Thanos highly but assume he has the IG. And then try to downplay other characters to make themselves feel better. If this fight would'vbe been using Thanos with IG/cosmic cube/heart of the universe/2 IGs is would've stated so. Maybe I don’t read comics but I know darkseid is more powerful than thanos so it would be a tougher fight so maybe he’ll win idk but I do know it would be a tougher fight
