Best description of the Indian push up from someone who's been there with the pehelwans and learnt it from them first hand. Thanks for the upload and the clarifications.

Thank you so much for showing this great video. Ive been doing it the way you showed before(the wrong way) because of that my shoulders would always have pain. The way you demonstrated in this video is way better. Thank you

Thanks I am glad it has helped. I injured my shoulder years back and find certain things really annoy it, this is one of the few that does not!

@@marcusquijas7319 thank you for your reply. I see what you mean. I wanted to ask after reading your booking the Hanuman power I'm curious did pehlwans such as the Great Gama who was exceptionally huge even for today's day did he get huge by just doing thousands of reps of these basic exercises everyday? I see the mace training they did to but I understand that most of their training was of the Dand-Baithak training.

I would say that Dands and Bethaks are foundation exercises used to develop general strength and endurance for the wrestler. Gama won a Bethak competition at a very young age but he also trained with Gar Nal weights around his neck whilst performing Dands and Bethaks, wrestled trees and mostly likely performed rope climbing, digging and flattening the pit, lifting of stones and other wrestlers for his training. I do not think just doing dands and bethaks will make you MASSSSSSIVE! However they will develop the whole body n a rounded manner. Personally I would add in other exercises like dumbbells and Gada/Jori swings to round out the physique and strength

@@marcusquijas7319 I agree with that too. I honestly love those exercises and they feel as if they rehabilitate my whole body from my neck all the way down to my ancles and feet but still did not believe that these wrestlers were extremely massively strong just from those two exercises as I see people talk about them. That makes more sense. I also understand that Indian wrestlers also do a lots of neck Bridges but I didn't see you write anything about the exercise. Is this an exercise you feel they do very much or it's not something they normally do? Thank you again for your awesome replies

Thank you so much. I had a fall a few years ago and ended up having shoulder surgery. Turning the hands out and replacing the "dive bomber" with back, forward, drop, push has made a world of difference. This video has given me hope to get my Hindu Pushups back where they should be.

Thanks. Just a couple of things: How do you breathe - is it through the nose or nose and mouth? And should you stand your feet close together?
@marcusquijas73196 жыл бұрын
Inhale through the nose and exhale from the throat. You may have just given me the inspiration for my next video!
@ding1743 жыл бұрын
@@marcusquijas7319 I’ve been nose breathing in and out since trying it jumping rope and running. When I get gassed I’ll exhale through my mouth and slow down then get back to nose breathing. It’s the new norm and lots of educational KZbin vids on the benefits of nose only breathing.
