@@ricosuavementee Yeah I mean it's just kind of sad to see it It's just like the double standards are kind of crazy It's just that you know we can't keep saying there's too many a whitewashed characters and then we go in black wash other people's characters two wrongs don't make a right.

Spawn is one of the most iconic black superheroes of all time. Yet, most of the people who are buying his books and supporting the character, are white. Then black folks be complaining that the industry doesn't cater to them. Smfh Make it make sense. 😒
@treymykel8 күн бұрын
@@handsuporillshoot381 Exactly and then on top of that they complain about a white person creating a black person like you know a lot of the most iconic black superheroes or just characters in general or created by non-black people and then they try to get these black writers or whatever on the characters to try to write for and they can't write these characters to save their lives. And like I said four you'll never see them push for the original black characters It's always the race swap versions of characters that they'll push for

Thanks for speaking on this topic. Asians need to start gatekeeping their IPs because its getting out of hand. Hopefully, AI will remove the need for Western localizers. P.S. I was just wondering why no one was pushing for new Spawn movies. ❤

Oooh boy I was waiting for you to talk about this one lol. This is being talked about damn near everywhere online. You make some valid points, especially about blerds only drawing whats popular, which I think is lame. I wish they could see that there are plenty of original stories featuring black characters being made, like the ones from Saturday AM. But noo, they gotta latch on to whats new and now.*eyeroll* And they get all excited to see a blackwashed version of a character...but no excitement for a new character, or characters that are already black lol. Ive never been into the raceswapping thing, I draw established characters the way they were meant to look. But im glad there are some of us out there not falling for this stuff lol.

Sam Wilson IS such a Prime example almost nothing AS Falcon , He becomes token Captain America suddenly there Come Out thousands of Sam Wilson Fans WHO we're "Always there" gaslighting you that its great that Sam Wilson becomes a knockoff and that somehow him being Falcon wasnt enough or Something lower than Captain America...
@treymykel8 күн бұрын
@@laisphinto6372 Exactly there are so many people all of a sudden Sam Wilson fans but they're they're still most of fans as Captain America not as just regular Sam Wilson and I keep trying to tell people I'm like Sam Wilson what's his own original character he was the first African American superhero in comic books for Marvel and instead of respecting that they downgrade him to Captain America and then anytime anybody say hey we don't want Sam Wilson that's Captain America oh you're racist you don't want to see a black person as Captain America Well no it's not about that it's about the fact that you're choosing Sam who doesn't need it and has proven to not be able to sell as Captain America That's just obvious It ain't enough people who claim that they love Sam Wilson as Captain America to cover all of these merchandise comic books and shows featuring Sam Wilson as Captain America It didn't work because if it did work Marvel would have made several more merchandise and titles featuring Sam Wilson as Captain America and it doesn't work

Thank you for your video. I dont understand english very well but i got your main ideas. I wrote a lot in twitter about the point of black representation in japanese media. Something i dont understand because discussion become about western politics. (I am not very familiar with forrigen affairs politics probelms) But black people have very different thinking from us. Watch anime = think politcs Watch anime = all characters are white = Japan worship white race people Watch anime = where are black people characters? This is discrimination Discussing with people who think like this, is very difficult because we can't understand each other because of different way of thinking. I real a lot of soccer manga because i love soccer. If mangaka dont include profesional black players (or any race) i will question if this mangaka even love soccer from first place ? In soccer manga, black chrachters are important to exsit to represent real world soccer. Black players like Pele, Mbappe, Samuel Eto’o (Inter Milan).Yaya Toure (Man City). I love these players soccer style, mangaka try to inspire imagined black characters play soccer like this. On japanese high school or junior high school, why you see black character from the U.S ? Maybe they are mixed race children? We have mixed jaapnese black people (different from black people). Authors need to think of a reason to include black characters to help the story. Not random. Not for representation. Black people think: Writing black chrachter = representation In reality we think: writing black character = for a purpose/story Also there are many black chrachter but people dont know because many manga not famous outside japan.

While black people playing victim card. Japanese artist after WW2 create them own stuff . They even create them own hero like Kamen rider, super Sentai, Ultraman etc. They don't need to make western media please them for having representation. And some of those series still popular though generation. See how different? Asian might physical weaker and was less high tech but they mostly not give up.
