Come along as we make an infused oil first to be used in the salve. The salve is a great item to have for first aid and is something everyone can make themselves to add to the medicine cabinet.

The dandelion salve is great for sore muscles and joint. It’s an anti inflammatory and helps with soothing itchy and cracked skin. I use it on my shoulders when I’ve worked hard in the field.

We have had a great crop of dandelion this year for some reason. I’ve taken advantage of it while it’s here for sure. Have a blessed day.

Had no idea of the hot technique. My dandelions are just now blooming on this hot March day, i can't wait to make😊
@WindmillFarm6 ай бұрын
The hot technique works with green blooms and plants. If you want the cold process dry your blooms first.

I never go beyond 95°-100° with *any* herbal concoction or essential oil. They are just too fragile beyond that & you lose the essence of what you want. Like comparing raw & cooked foods, they’re both food but one will have *way* more nutrients. 👍🏼

Agree however some people don’t have time or space to dry store and keep herbal cold processing oil or need it now and can’t wait. That’s more of what I was showing was how to get it now with green undried herbs. Have a blessed evening and keep herbal cooking

I've made dandelion salve and never even thought about adding vitamin E, fantastic tip, thank you sir👌
@WindmillFarm2 ай бұрын
Add anything you want to help your skin. Vitamin E tea tree oil instead of a full cup of infused oil so 3/4 and add 1/4 coconut oil.

Can't use coconut oil, allergic to it, I know, ridiculous, used it for years but now I can't anymore, I infuse mine mainly with grapeseed oil, and I have also used tallow instead of beeswax, works great
@WindmillFarm2 ай бұрын
Yes tallow works great. It also cooks better and healthier than any seed oil used. My wife is nurse and is now allergic to latex from having the gloves on all the time.

I've been wanting to make dandelion salve for a while. Now that I know how easy it is to make, I'll be trying it soon. Thank you for sharing how to make it. From your Water Valley fan, Cheryl, take care, stay safe, God bless
@WindmillFarm Жыл бұрын
It’s very easy. Same with plantain or any of the herbs we have growing around here for short time. You can make up the infused oil and keep for up to 6 months on average.

@@WindmillFarm that's so awesome. I'm going to try making some as soon as I can. Thank you for the great info!!

@@WindmillFarm how long will the infused oil last and how do you store the oil until you’re ready to make the salve?
@WindmillFarm8 ай бұрын
As long as the oil is in the house it will stay good for a good amount of time. I’ve had some 6 months or better.
