Cristiano, em ferramentas expansivas como são chamadas, elas funcionam com o movimento do eixo Z do Spindle(árvore), essas ferramentas são encaixados com os cones no Spindle das máquinas e travadas ao mangote do eixo W, daí o eixo Z funciona dentro delas para expandir o eixo do Ø, que pode variar o significado de acordo com o comando da máquina, ora pode ser Z, W, ou X, espero ter ajudado.

when you take your cuting tool so much out of center and you got to much weight you need something to offset that weight you need something to balance.or else the centrifugal force may cause vibration or problems in your diammeter

true, does not replace lathe ... but I assure you that a diameter of 2.50m H7 tolerance, the head should be proportional to the machine, I use d'andrea on RIVOLTA boring and safe ok.
