Yes on the hats video. Yes on the casual clothes video. Shoes? Sources and styles? My question: adapting men’s clothing styles to female bodies, whether trans or gender fluid or just wanting to mix up the presentation a bit. Any ideas or suggestions? Maybe a guest speaker?

I work in horticulture, so pretty rough and ready. Come the milder/warmer months I have a pretty good landgirl vibe going on (it helps that I'm a needlesmith), but I'd love a deeper a dive into workwear. I haven't cracked winter, because between the cold and the getting wet I really do just stop caring about what I look like so long as I'm warm and dry.

I would be interested in a video that talks about where to cut corners. We all would love to have an exclusively vintage exquisitely material wardrobe… But that ain’t gonna happen for most people… Where, in your opinion, are the best places to fudge a bit.

Awesome video as always! I would definitely love both a casual vintage video and an in depth hat video, I'd be especially interested in hats with brims. When I go to university or any sort of store I need a hat to create shade as the lights give me severe headaches and nausea, but the only type of hat I've found so far that has enough of a brim is a baseball cap and perhaps a flat cap of sorts, but it is hard to find and style hats in a vintage outfit whilst still having the shade from the hat I need. Once again awsome video and looking forward to the next :-)

Thanks for watching and this comment. There are a few hats that could work for you. There is also a style a baseball cap that has a super long brim. My friends at Butcher James sell them but I'm sure you can find them vintage too.

I suffer from chronic migraines, and have incorporated hats into my daily style to help reduce the amount of light getting in over my sunglasses. I advise going into a shop that has a wide variety of fedora style hats to figure out how wide of a brim that you require. Personally I found wearing a peaked cap useless for keeping the light out, as it didn't prevent light coming in from the sides. For summer, a straw hat, even a boater, is perfect for me

I just found your channel. I love men who take the time to look nice, like they did 1950s and back. I love a man in a fedora! Both of my grandfathers wore them and the movies I grew up watching as well. I am a 1940's history buff so I love men's fashion from that era. Women have always been expected to dress up but casual mens wear seams to keep going from grunge to grungier.

I live in Hong Kong and the vintage scene is just burgeoning. In the meantime, I fly to Tokyo at least once a year to get my vintage fix. Have you been there and if so do you have any places to recommend? For me, one of my favorite places is Komehyo in Shinjuku. While they don't carry true vintage sometimes i can find something old school. On my last visit, I picked up a NOS classic A-cut garbardine Burberry DB trench that they don't make any more. Olive, but almost like a Solaro cloth in that depending on where the light hits it it throws off a reddish tint.

Wonderful video! I'd love to know your thoughts on women wearing vintage/retro menswear and any tips and tricks you might recommend, and I'd love to see more from you on hats. I've been wearing a lot of sailor trousers and button downs since the pandemic began, forgoing the more feminine vintage look I've done the past few years, and it's always fun to learn about new styles (especially casual wear; while I'd love to rock a Marlene Dietrich-style tux, I'm not quite sure how to go about it yet).

Hello sir, greetings from Australia. Im a bit late to your channel, but have just watched this video and was inspired to write to you about hats. I too love classic hats. I own fedoras, homburgs, bowlers, a boater (I want more), top hat, flatcaps. My question is about berets - I have a few and love wearing them, but can find little advice on how to do so with classic menswear; do you wear berets, and if so how do you style them?

Curious. How do you suggest someone carry a sidearm with vintage dress. I've noticed that since wearing high waisted pants designed more towards 20's style, I don't have belt loops. Thus, I cant wear a holster. Do you suggest a sling or shoulder holster?
@occipitalneuralgia23392 жыл бұрын
Why on earth do you need to wear a side arm? Their are many different styles for that, often very vintage looking. You might want to go with a 30/40s detective look with an all leather strap holder.

I'd love a hat video. I'm trying to copy an extant newsboy cap. It's a bit odd, as it has more of the ivy cap shape, but has 6 panels like a newsboy. I only have flannel. Is that thick enough? I plan to use two layers with interfacing. I also have an in-progress beret. It's also flannel, and a bit too flat. Any tips?
