I'm in full agreement with viewpoint. Honoring truthful history, especially my own, is important to me. I felt like Harriet Tubman's story was a myth you know I must say this I'm in my mid-50s and I can recall a Time in history in school that they showed us in a total different perspective of who we are and in their history books 19 79_ 1980 a change came with slavery in America I remember slavery was never mentioned in 60s and 70s of growing up in history books it only mentioned after the movie Roots before then there were no history books to mention slavery in America or the slave trade the movie Roots was made by Alex Haley change the face of black people in this country history books were made on that movie and changed to be a part of that movie the history teacher in the seventies showed us a picture of black people in the beginning of America and they had tobacco like clothing on dress nice they was not slaves as we picture them in our movies in history books today I am living proof of this and this is my history somebody lied to us and we believe them and that was our downfall
