His line out throwing is ridiculously accurate. I can't remember ever seeing him get pinged for not throwing it in straight. Dude is a weapon.

Gone are the days when forwards trudged from set piece to set piece. Us Poms will never catch up until rugby is played in the schoolyard. That's where skills are learnt and practised.
@danmcgivern40574 жыл бұрын
@Cameron Brown Having lived for long periods in both countries I don't think rugby is played in the school yards anywhere to the same extent in Britain as it is in New Zealand. The formal games of rugby yes, but in NZ informal games which happen in school yards on the daily no. I think the better climate in NZ plays a big part in that.

very easily the best hooker of the 2000's, wasnt just some swan, he had great edge forward ability to link up with the backs and keep the rucks safe. great set piece and he could play tight when he needed/wanted to, with hard defence, could do some top work in a pick and drive. class stuff

I'm starting rugby, I've just turned 18 and been told I have potential to go professional if I bust ass. I'm 5'7, 193 pounds, I'm fast for someone my size and extremely strong for my age, my friend who wants me too play with his club said he could see me as a utility hooker, is any of this possible? I've always loved this sport, regal aggresion, I want to go as far as possible, the college I will be going to has a jv and varsity team and after that I want to see where I'll go from there. Any feedback is appreciated. thanks in advance.

Depends what position you play. Hard to play top level if you havent been playing since you were a kid. Possible, but the best players in the world started playing when they were kids. Its like most pro sport, there is an element of instinct that is actually just having grown up playing. If you want to play, forget about your speed and size and carry a ball everywhere you go. Skills beat size every day of the week.

so im new to rugby and my coach said i might be a hooker does the hooker ever get the ball to score a try?
@bremCZ8 жыл бұрын
If you are Dane Coles you can score plenty but mainly Hookers end up retiring with a few tries and plenty of neck injury and screwed ears.
@zacronk69458 жыл бұрын
Every position is an attacking threat. It depends on your play style. Don't think about "Does my position get to score". It's all about your work rate, positioning, and knowledge of the game. Especially at the lower levels of the game, any position can score frequently.
