Make sure not to stay in the Old Town, visit the affluent area Zona Sur where you will find the best restaurants in La Paz, and a much warmer climate and less pollution and traffic. Take the green teleférico to the end station Irpavi and then walk or take the taxi to San Miguel, Avenida Montenegro. Walk around, eat good food and then maybe take the taxi from there to the Valle de la Luna, the Moon Valley. 💙

I watched this video yesterday. And today when I was watching one of Backpacking Banana's Peru vlogs, she ate something with tuna on it that didn't look like the fish. Naturally, I Googled it. Turns out that tuna is an edible fruit of a type of prickly pear cactus.

You probably didn’t see commercial shops in La Paz because you stayed in the poor area in the old city centre. There is a whole other La Paz that tourists never see in Zona Sur, the lower parts of the city. It takes about 30 min to go there by teleférico or taxi. Zona Sur is the affluent area where all the good restaurants are, and there are lots of shops there. It’s sad that KZbinr after KZbinr who travel to La Paz only stay in the tiny little tourist area or take the teleférico up to El Alto.
