I will never understand how anyone can perform this music without just breaking down and sobbing like a baby. I'm a grown man crying.

Every choral piece he writes is that beautiful, yes.

Training for years and when you sing in a choir you have to be extremely focused on your parts... you're basically distracted. LOL

The church choir sang this at my mother's memorial service. It is such a perfect song for her and it was a heartfelt tribute. I come back to this video to remember. Thank you.

Singing this piece, with this choir, was such a privilege. Thank you Dan Forrest, for such a beautiful piece of music. :)

mrs_sarahbelle this concert was one of the most beautiful I’ve been to. I sure miss the old Hinshaw conferences!

Warm Summer Sun BY MARK TWAIN Warm summer sun, Shine kindly here, Warm southern wind, Blow softly here. Green sod above, Lie light, lie light. Good night, dear heart, Good night, good night. Adapted from Robert Richardson's poem “Annette.” Death of a child.... Heartache

Break the pieces of this frozen heart/too afraid to weep, lest my weeping tear the sky apart/ Blistering, a silence where a thousand voices cry/ too bereft to utter sound lest aether quail beneath a pall on high/ Lest grief itself fall short it's name to prove/ And words die on the lips of she who lost such love/ 'My God why hast Thou me forsaken?'/ Cried He who never yet bore it all/ And in that moment dreaded blackness / Mans own sin stood forth in dread recall/ Oh He who made the Sun burn out my heart, in mercy or in death destroy my pain/ Oh light of Lights for he who loved this worldtrods not again.

What poem is this?

@@DanForrestMusic My own. I have not titled it. I wrote it thinking of he who is lost to me, he who sleeps now down where my arms cannot hold him. Cold and formaldehyde leather the two lips that once kissed, once gave pleasure, once spoke my name with ardorous devotion; blind, sewn shut, the two gem lenses that pierced with green-blue fire any pretense that I did not want him, always, in the quiet night. I am illiterate. No 'he is gone' do I understand in any language of men. Only the wet and dying thing, the world's grief contagion, black throated aborted misery that screams its one its last,, its only cry,knows the language of my lost forever.

@@DanForrestMusic I tried to hear the beauty. And in every note a tinted sunset And. In every threaded bar the breath that somehow linger in a memory pressed between the now and the was/ Eternity lives somewhere between the heart and the metronome, each beating the progress of smiles, tears and. the silent looks of lovers. I tried to hear the beauty But the notes became my soul, lost somewhere in a tinted sunset.

This is the most beautiful, most loveliest version of this song I have ever heard.

you should listen to the SATB version, specifically the one done by the University of Oregon chamber choir. It actually brought tears to my eyes when I heard it the first time

This choir is amazing. Have heard them sing other pieces and they do an awesome job. There is one soprano's voice that stands out from the rest of the choir. It gives me goose bumps. So awesome. Sounds like she's crying when she sings. Would love to hear her sing a solo. Wow! Thanks for sharing.

Mi Picasso actually when singing with a choir no voice should stand out. I also heard her voice and to me, she sang too sharp but that's my opinion.

So nice to hear beautiful, in perfect tune singing! So much singing today is too pushed and it is flat! This is a sweet relief!

This piece is such a tender, compassionate and patient picture of a dedicated lover. Like a tender lullaby after a tango, where the lovers fall into one another's arms in peaceful exhaustion. Exquisite!

nothing against the person attached, but i am very irritated by the head in the way of the keyboard.

The only audible part is the soprano line
@emilybecker38424 жыл бұрын
If u had a musically trained ear you could hear all the parts
@ZipplyZane2 жыл бұрын
The other parts are definitely there, and pretty strongly so. But it is a bit harder to hear because the piano part is louder than the choir.
