DANG IT! Set up to for a win, but a bit of bad luck hit at Peoria Speedway’s IL State Championship.

Team Feger made sure our hot rod and driver were on ready for the Illinois State Championship at Peoria Speedway which has been ran since 1952. Jason’s won four of the past events (2010, 2011, 2012 and 2016) and wanted a fifth win.
The tumblin’ dice 25 dirt late model started second in the main event on the 1/4 mile dirt race track. Jason jumped to the lead on the first lap, setting a fast pace and dominating the early part of the race.
The second and third place cars tangled, bringing out a yellow around lap 25 or so, but retained their positions. After the yellow one of the rear tires slowly went flat. The crew changed tire late in the race and Jason battled back up to third place finish.
At the end of the 100 lap race another tire went completely down as Jason was pulled into his pit. After the race the crew found additional damage with a huge rock stuck behind the wheel.
Team 25 had enough luck to survive a bit bad luck to come home with a third place finish.
Top 5 finishers: Unzicker, Shirley, Feger, Bell and Scheffler top 5.
