I think it's a term used by judge? Like if I remember right, consent means that the judge is allowing the defendant to give evidence or proofs of their innocents. In danganronpa's case, the protagonist is giving himself consent to give proofs about an statement. That's what I think

I think I prefer Danganronpa 1's story a bit more, but I'd say Danganronpa 2 definitely has better mechanics. Not only was the Hangman's Gambit improved over its first iteration and the Logic Dive a more entertaining mini-game, the fact that Hajime could concur with points the others made was an all around improvement. Makoto could only object to the wildly stupid points made. While the others mostly make painfully moronic assertions, the fact that they couldn't bring up plainly obvious points always seemed too contrived.

If the characters were written better or be good survivors, they could have different characters bring up agree points. If Sonia died, Hiyoko would get one, Mikan would also get one too. And Akane too.
