I think what’s unmatched in DR1 is that first experience. You’re given a mix of grounded and surreal that makes you question if anything is for real or not. Heck, the final twist of the game works so well cause it literally seems like a joke. And the game doesn’t give you an answer to if it’s real or not. Cause it doesn’t matter. What matters is that the characters move towards that uncertain future with Hope. That’s why I think later games fail a bit cause they basically played their best hand. Now they have to keep that going while trying to work in more absurd twists on top of it. Anyway, good video! Very cool to hear Aapo here transmitting his diss from Space to be in the video.
