Rantaro's death was honestly the only death I felt sad enough to cry at. Rantaro had a personality that I felt no-one else had, I feel like Rantaro had a place in my heart that no-one had and made him my ultimate favorite character though he was the first one to die

I'm gonna guess that the protagonist is the murderer. The camera was positioned so that it could easily be seen and inspected by someone, and then get hit by the shot put she dropped into the vent. The way he say the camera was because the protagonist switched the flash function on, making him go inspect the camera. The shot put dropped from above and killed him. A blow to the head with an object of that weight and speed would have a good shot at killing instantly if it struck the head. That way the killer could be in another place while this was going on. Shuichi seems to have picked up on it by the end, but he doesn't want to believe it.
