the reusing part is, atleast game wise, meant to show that this version dangsnronpa has been reusing jokes from the older games(in this case shows) for presumably awhile. the specifically gold leaf falling on the katana despite it could've being any other weapon shows to me the most that tsumugi has been doing this for awhile. also the formula that like, everyone has pointed out with the trials is here too.
