I actually realized it when I first start playing Danganronpa 2 because I know a bit Japanese, but I'm was not really sure until finishing the sDr2 game and hearing Komaeda repeating Kibou for so many times

When I replayed this game, I really appreciated the ending a lot more. Saihara's VA's performance really sold it perfectly. The raw emotion and the depth of his character makes him easily my favorite DR protagonist to date

The creator had planned that hope would be the end. He made this game just to close the mouth to the fans who asked for more. For summary this game is only for fans who were too addicted. Just saying: the world is at peace. It's a clue .... There is a lot of other clue. Ah i forgot Danganronpa Zero... ))) In any case, congratulations to the creator. He wrote a great story and he managed to shut the mouth to addicted through a game that is not part of the story. The simple fact of wanting more episodes of killings is uncomfortable.

okay ik im late to this but im gonna say this since a lot of people seem confused about the ending- the creator of danganronpa, Kodaka, said that the entirety of V3 is in a complete different universe to all the other danganronpa games and stories (THH, SDR2, DR3, Zero, Killer Killer, etc), meaning that what Tsumugi said about all the characters being fiction is technically true in V3's universe, but in the sake of the other DR universe its fake and a lie. so basically, yes, the tragedy, hopes peak, junko, the other killing games, etc did actually happen- just in another universe compared to V3

honestly imagine a crazy world that has a lot of killing games with real persons and it's already something loved worldwide, what a rotten world, kind of rotten like the world that happens in thh and goodbye despair (if it's true what tsumugi said i don't believe her tho but that's not the point) the thing is that all could be a lie and i think honestly that's something amazing from this game like what could yall expect? from it to be like the last two games with the whole junko history? i don't like it if all they said is true but i like the fact that you don't know what is true and it could all be lies. i also know that they're making a reference to us with this whole 4th wall breaking but still we enjoy a fictional killing game, this is like showing us liking fictional killing games (thh and sdr2) to the point we made it happen in reality a lot of times, and i think that honestly is great.

Boring. I do like the idea of choosing "neither hope nor despair." That said, the ending comes off as pretty condescending and nonsensical. Let me guess, the series creator had a meltdown over fans asking for more content and made this middle finger to the people who enjoyed the series? That's disappointing.
