True. Some people in the fandom (and a KZbinr who lists her disliked characters in DR) hates him only because of his appearance, like, wtf? I know it's their opinion but that's so shallow of them. Hifumi is very passionate on his talent and proudly talks to everyone about it, even if he looks like a total nerd for it. He didn't care what they say.

While I can definitely understand seeing him as perverted and weird, I don't think he's a bad character. He works great as a comic relief for the first game, doesn't overstay his welcome, and acts as a simply FUN character. Hes weird, but in a good way.
