I think people here are doin too much hating on the guy. While he garners the highest viewership in this channel, that means he did something that awaken our inner jazz. I love his music overall

It should have been played within a band setup were the bass gives more of a melodic gideline towards the composition. Other than that, splendidly played👌 Love the instrument and it's color💖

I wish guitar companies would start sending out free guitars to guitarist every once and a while. I could use a new semi hollow guitar. My Ibanez is beat down bad.

Meh. Almost totally unrecognizable. I mean, he's a good player. The music sounds good, but besides a few snippets here and there, it does not resemble the original.

Way to go negative. I'm sure Stanley Jordan wouldn't appreciate lesser players like yourself trying to use him as a bully to kick sand in the face of other players who are way better than you.

They did 2 different things, what are you even on about? 🤣🤣🤣

@@rolandmueller7218 it's been over 3 decades since stanley jordan's stairway to heaven. i had the cd. everybody had plenty time to improve him, and it's not the case in this video. this is the problem with internet and music and video in general. how dare you upload anything that is not better than spielberg and thriller by michael jackson? you had 4 decades to train and learn. they raised the bar of quality. don't treat the audience as if we don't know the past. the world is comunicated, way before internet. i am catalonian. i have one guitar player magazine from 1987 with stanley jordan with a vinyl sheet recording included. back in the mid 90's i had vhs from stanley. i played tapping, i almost considered getting a stick. i watched guillermo cides live, a stick player. kmon we live in a present where music should be done with kontakt and plugins. wake up.

I don't get it. I mean, I get (and respect) the concept of Jazz. But I don't enjoy listening to this interpretation. It simply does not touch me. I can't grasp a rythm here and the chord progression is much to complex (for me). And although the original is far away from being a simple arrangement, the old saying is true: Rockers play 5 cords in front of thousands of people, Jazzers play thousands of chords in front of 5 people.

I like it. I mean, I get (and respect) the concept of rock. But I prefer listening to this version. It tickles me. I’ve learned to grasp the rhythm and the chord progression is way too sick (for me). And although the original is famously overdone, the old saying is true: I only hope that one day, America will recognize what the rest of the world already has known, that our indigenous music - gospel, blues, jazz and R&B - is the heart and soul of all popular music; and that we cannot afford to let this legacy slip into obscurity, I'm telling you.
