It’s really tragic, several years ago it was a relatively very safe and stable country

They’re ( inmates) not in jail for being good law abiding citizens, let’s face it they’re in jail for crimes against their victims. Long live Ecuador 🇪🇨!

Only thing is, knowing the police and military over there, they probably jailed innocent people along with the real criminals.

I used to go to Guayaquil frequently and lived in Ecuador for a few months 10 years ago, it was super safe and and a very safe country in general. Sad to see how it has become.

Humanity has lost its mind. I lived in Guayaquil in 1980-81 and sure there were rough areas, but never like this. My friend and I hitched to Salinas. We were young college girls with no worries. Now, that would be suicide

I was just there in June. They are currently living as normal. No issues at all. The president ran all them out. He is an Ecuadorian born in Florida so he definitely was with the ish.
@CautionHighWavesAhead-26 күн бұрын
Oh, really? That's news to me. Ask people living there to confirm your opinion. Noboa is another do-nothing Ecuadorian president just like Lasso and Moreno and the presidents of the 80s and 90s.

NO PROBLEMO, STORM IN Bukele, he is gonna handle that in 6 months max.
@Dieggsbruh2 ай бұрын
As amazing a job as Bukele did El Salvador is a tiny country and he was not going up against multiple international cartels. People keep comparing Ecuador with El Salvador but Bukele was not fighting off Mexican Cartels that make Billions of dollars and even have US intelligence on their payroll. This is a MUCH bigger challenge IMO

A lot of foreigners from Venezuela and Colombia have helped create this situation. Ecuador had enough problems before them coming. This is why it's sometimes smart to restrict immigration, especially if your economy is not strong enough and your own people are unemployed. The native people should come first. These open borders people aren't from Ecuador.
@Tiny1Der3 ай бұрын
I can agree to this. I been going twice a year since 2020 and it's only getting worse since they started immigrating in mass in the last 3 years.

@@CautionHighWavesAhead- I have noticed that as well. June was my first time actually seeing a man snort in the open..... can I say that word here?
@CautionHighWavesAhead-3 ай бұрын
@@Tiny1Der Yeah, you can. I saw some young guys snorting in a KFC bathroom by where that park is close to 6 de Marzo St in Guayaquil. That was in 2016 when I also saw rows of teenagers sleeping on the sidewalks - all drug addicts addicted to "H." Later on in 2021 I didn't see them anymore.

No it hasn't. This is exaggerated by using single incidents. I was just there walking around by myself at night (10/10 still not recommended)and all just in June. I even brought someone back on a visa.
@Tiny1Der3 ай бұрын
This video is so exaggerated by singling out on a few incidents and making them big. Not that they are not. But as a person who was just there for an entire month with absolutely no issue except someone getting shot at the market when i was omw (still went).

guayaquil is one of the deadliest cities in the world, but you are talking about exaggerating. I love these insane comments xD
@Tiny1Der16 күн бұрын
I said the video. Not the crime......I'm from Baltimore MD so I'm not stranger to crime and they are very comparable cities imo in terms of crime. The only difference is the type or way a crime is carried out. I'd say the same for a lot of Baltimore videos as well only because they ONLY single out one or two things and make that the entire story of the city. The only danger AT EVERY CORNER in both cities are ppl smoking drugs and asking you for money. In Baltimore, everybody got a gun. In Guayaquil, everybody will rob you.
