Located off Morocco, Spain's Canary Islands are facing their worst migrant crisis since 2006. In just one year, 30,000 migrants have arrived on the archipelago. The smallest island, El Hierro, saw 4,000 arrive in January alone. Despite locals and NGOs coming together to help out, El Hierro is overwhelmed. Watched a separate documentary about senegalese migrants recently- telling them about the troubles at sea is not a deterrent as they still believe the grass is greener. Immigrants in Spain are immediately attended by doctors and in hospitals. Spanish have to wait up to 10 months for an appointment with their doctor. Another so many months to see a specialist, another so many months for a scan, and easily 2 years for an operation. But not so for immigrants.

@@MissRed92837 I went Sardinia recently and sadly it has the same problem if you visit the beautiful towns they are overrun with illegals presumably only from Africa who are in gangs just avoid them though they are literally scattered all over. The people of the Canary Islands are known for their generosity and kindness. Additionally, Mauritania and Senegal need to take more effective measures to stop illegal migration by sea, which is extremely dangerous and has a high mortality rate. European countries should also address the root causes of this issue to prevent it from worsening.
