The marina hired us to check the electrolysis and stray voltage on the boat that was across the way because it can cause harm to someone in the marina. It would have been interesting to disconnect from shore power the sailboat you suspected of leaking power across from the powerboat that you initially checked. Then with the suspected power leaking sailboat electrically isolated to have gone back and checked the powerboat to see if the one volt +/- you initially detected on the trim tab(s) was still present. Were either one of these boats equipped with a galvanic isolator or better yet an isolation transformer. I would venture to say that the power boat was not; as in the case of a galvanic isolator that device was designed to inhibit DC stray current corrosion and a isolation transformer accomplishes the same thing by doing away with the physical AC ground connection that provides the "other" part of the circuit.
