@@audio91000Actually, stump-tailed macaques are the least aggressive. They don’t look to fight and quickly settle disagreements in their troops. So imagine that! This was a horrible situation. The “chortling” Kiti was doing was an alarm. It’s to communicate fear, danger, distrust and they take a defensive stance when they do this. That poor domesticated cat would’ve eventually been badly injured and the main reason is because Kiti was there first, but also, if the cat did ever defend itself, the ingrained need for hierarchy in Kiti would’ve automatically given Kiti the instinct to dominate (or annihilate). And I’m not kidding. They are wired for strict social structure.

She has no intentions apparently of isolating him until it is learned what his health condition is. There is always a period of adjustment when you bring home a new animal and introduce it to the other animals. It is good that kity is young enough to be introduced to another animal in the house, When I bring home a new animal, I first place the new cat in big dog cage 4 feet by four feet, with food,water, bed blanket,toys and litter box so the other animals can slowly adjust to the new animal. Usually I do this for a few days, That gives the older animals a chance to get to know the new animal, and the new animal also can feel safe and get to know the existing animal like kiti. Hopefully kiti will learn to like cat and find cat a nice friend,especially, when you leave house for work and they are alone with each other.
