Rules are very different in wartime. Child endargement is no longer an issue once the army assumes policing duties. In that case 'wanna speak to my lawyer' is not really an option anymore Granted there are still rules in place but those rules would quickly get tossed aside in practice. Armies hate policing duties but when they do assume the role they tend to be not nice.

There's a violent protest - they take picture of every person who is participating in that protest and later arresting them, depending on if they just stood and watched, or if they threw rocks, bricks, molotovs and tires. That's why there's a blockade in the west bank and that's why there's going to be a blockade in the west bank for the next I think 40 years.
