I've been to jail and have never been back. Im sick of people saying there are no jobs for a criminal. I managed to get one with a violent record. If you don't want to go back, you won't. Stop hanging around with idiots. Surround yourself with people who actually love you and have the best intentions for you and not the ones who couldn't give a crap. Work a crap job if you have to so you can get references and experience. You've been to jail, so don't expect some high paying job like you're entitled to it. Before you know it, the jail will be a thing of the past. Change your mindset lads. F Jail, you can do this. 💯

I did a plumbing course in a D cat. I got a plumbing apprenticeship as soon as I got out. I started up my own business about 5 years after I got out. I’ve been out of prison for over 20 years now, married with 2 kids. Like you said if you don’t want to go back you won’t. I work with brickys and chippys and sparkies that are ex prisoners. They’re earning good livings now.

@KeithHarrison-sp6ml glad you got out. Those IPP and conspiracy sentences are awful. But this is what im saying if someone like you can do it. Having dealt with all the types you mention I agree, and vile is a word that is not sufficient to describe these things. When you get good, you get good, and when you get bad you get bad. Police, sadly, are not really interested in serious crime, just a lower category, and even down to wrong speak. In the great depression the U S came up with work, paying people to work, and we followed, cleaning streets, being one, manufacturing being another, and you know what both countries benefitted, and we could do the same with ex offenders, but government will not do this because to them lives do not matter

@mrsimo7144 would require investment as a class 1/2 is 4 or 5k in total but that's only 1month cost to keep them in prision if they re offend, a electricians course or gas safe is about the same cost but eventually will save the government money just requires that initial investment

Some could argue that those with Palestine flags support terrorism for example. It’s not the flags, it’s more the individuals mannerisms, vocals, body language. Essentially a life sentence under a more barbaric scheme. Thankfully, those IPP sentences are now defunct, but the lads still seeving them are often YEARS beyond their earliest date of release, and they cannot access the courses they have to do in order to be paroled so they're being held illegally. IPP stands for Indeterminate sentence for public protection. Indeterminate means they didn't get a release date. Absolutely brutal.
