Making NPC's Helpful! - Stardew Valley

Best mod. The NPCs seem more like people living in Stardew Valley instead of just being "goals" for the player to unlock. It's not reasonable that they wouldn't know how to fight or do things. Does the mod function once you're married too or after a divorce? It'd be so weird if it worked after a divorce, dragging a bitter angry NPC around who won't talk to you but happily slaughter things would be hilarious but so weird.

There should be post divorce dialogue where all your partner does is complain about you and tell you that you suck and how useless you are while you're with them.

Do you know of the game Princess Maker? I think it would be pretty cool if that style of game could be incorporated to your children, where chores, school, and work increase stats, and then when they are old enough, they shoes a life for themselves based on the stats they have at that point.

An indie game is just a title we give to games made on a low budget that don't have many people working on them. So nothing is going to change. If anything all these people would be one off freelancers at worst.

this is a great idea that feels like it could be vanilla if the creator wanted to. i think the buffs should scale with affection levels, and would need some consideration of balancing. With mines being an option, the npc's may need to have a health or fatigue stat that either makes them leave once exhausted, or stop helping temporarily.

This is a really cool idea for a mod! The walk animations could use some work, as it's clear the npcs walk cycles weren't built to facilitate moving so quickly, but this looks really awesome. It's nice for your s/o to have practical use in farming/adventuring.

It reminds me a lot of the Rune Factory games. You can invite almost all npcs to hang out with you they use diffrent weapons and have different base stats, some even use magic and stuff.

If your wondering, the sword Abigal and Emily have is the Neptune's Glaive. Its a level 7 sword that does 18-35 damage -1 speed +2 defense and +4 weight Dont ask why I know this

Although if it were official I think each NPC should only do specific things, like Abigail for combat makes a ton of sense! Ikr, I hope 1.5 update will include that feature. It would be really cool to hangout eith the npcs, even small interactive events like leah can teach you to make a sculpture or tile and you make one animal crossing style, haley could do photography sessions with you, abigail can fight with you, elliot can fish with you, penny can help you solve mysteries in the valley (giving hints and telling her suspicious observations) and tell you the history of it, idk. I really just want to do soemthing with the npcs. Tho that would be incredibly ambitious. It would be a really nife DLC tho.

It would be nice if they change clothes for a swimsuit whenever they walk with you in the pool area (and/or make them go through the opposite sex change room). I know it might me a little bit too complicated for such a small detail, but it would give the player the chance to have "dates" as well. Like you decide whether to take advantage of the skill boost or go somewhere in the town and pretend to have a date.

This only strengthens my theory that Cattails is SDV but for cats. Why? -You complete a stupid place for a stupid reward(CT-Guardian Pelt, SDV-Trophy) -You can marry/have children -Your kittens can follow you around(foraging, fishing, killing for you) -There's really hard mines - Different items in different seasons -You can divorce/remarry -You can change your appearance -You can grow crops(In Cattails you have to have 5 of a plant and a den upgrade) -You can upgrade your house.

You can do this in a few of the rune factory games and I absolutely loved it. You can ask people to go with you and have them help with battling OR take them on dates in special areas. Which is so cool because you learn more about the characters AND get help fighting. Stardew Valley I think would benefit from this and also your children and spouse helping you on the farm (or with other chores) in harvest moon animal parade.

At least Penny's farming buff can be combined with any other farming buff. Combined with quality fertilizer gives the player a near-100% chance of getting gold quality crops. For example, of 116 spaces in the greenhouse with ancient fruits and quality fertilizer, 108 were gold quality, 7 silver quality and 1 normal quality. Has anyone already done the proper math for this? Maybe

The moment when you realize that you don't need to click on the plant you want to harvest. It only depends on character placement. (AKA you can click anywhere on the screen and it will harvest the surrounding tiles)

I fucking LOST IT when you did the "neat trick" with Linus' fire pit! Other than that, I think the mod is neat! Maybe a bit overpowered for how it is right now, but nice none the less! I feel the perks should increase the more hearts you have, with the current settings being the maximum. And maybe the sword damage be set to what you last used as a melee weapon :P

I posted a topic on Reddit a few months ago that spouses should give you various perks, and this mod seems to be a close enough idea to that! I was thinking that hitting eight hearts would get you a small permanent perk, and marriage would give you a stronger one, but only as long as you're married to them.

There are unused items in the code for a weapon owned by each of the marriageable NPCs intended as gifts for the player to use. It would be cool if the mod used them instead of the generic swords. (That said, Shane and Emily don't have weapons because the idea was obviously scrapped by launch and they were made options in a patch. There are other unused items one could probably use for them though)

This reminds me of Rune Factory 4, you can pick 2 villagers but the elderly grandma and take them whenever you like, and you can gear them up and they level up and learn new skills and stuff, it was very fun on that game.
