Returning to forager? Missing those sweet sweet views I guess. Leme give you a tip, the reason you aren't getting tons of views on Kindergarten 2 is because you are late. On sandbox games like this, you add your own spin to it, but K2 is a story game. There's some freedom, but you can't put your own spin on it, and therefore you aren't getting the views because you are behind other KZbinrs story-wise, which means there's no point to rewatch you do the exact same thing. Stick to sandboxes or get ontop of K2, that's how you'll get views.

I got this game after watching you play it and I 100% it in 1 16 and a half hour sitting. And within minutes of that last steam achievement popping the game crashed and I lost 100% of my save file. I think the roads actually do prevent spawns from happening on them. However the game needs a certain amount of space for things to spawn on. So as you covered more of the world the game had to spawn on the roads and it just cascaded from there.

You could surround the entire map with fence, then use as MANY tree scrolls then wizard scrolls across the entire map. Then slowly build fence inwards until you have herded an entire game’s worth of animals onto one tile.

If I had to guess, Forager uses the ground tile to choose what to spawn. Each biome probably has it's own floor tile (even though you use the same item to place all tiles, it's not that hard to do a biome check and then overwrite what gets placed) and then stuff spawns based on the tile. In that case, it also probably isn't doing any checks for other spawnable objects/entities in the chosen location, because it should never have an unknown tile, and therefore the developer can safely be lazy about it. The druid scroll would still check because it's very specifically spawning trees based on biome - meaning it probably uses its own spawn code. As for why things were spawning in the first place, as I said, it's probably because it's using fallback behavior. Since the road tile isn't recognized by the spawn code, it defaults to whatever the devs put in that "else" statement. Since spawning a null object would likely crash, they just decided to have it pick at random from all spawnable objects, rather than handling "null" in every function they use the spawn code.

The spawning is probably calculted by picking a spot in a biome and seeing if something can spawn there. Since the answer is no, it moves over a random amount and checks again. The checks probably leave they biome and get stuck on your floors until they reach the maximum attempts and just place something there no matter where it ended up or what it's on top of.

It makes me think, you might really love Path of Exile. The game is intensely deep and there's tons of things you could abuse. ik this is old, but my theory is that the path grows plants according to whatever is touching it, like the biome around it. i think if you put it in a normal biome, itd only have normal stuff, but since every path is touching everything ever, it grows everything ever. not sure if its how it works, but it sounds like it.
