Jahn Bar Penkaye wrote when Ibn Zubayr was alive. He records that in the wars with Damascus Zubayr relocated south from the Holy City. This only makes sense if the Holy City was Petra. Discover what else Penkaye said about what was happening in Islam. Visit nabataea.net to download a free copy of Let The Stones Speak.

Dear Dan, first of all thank you as you have invested your life in this work and as a Muslim i have always at a later age considered or thought some of the Muslim history does not make sense and the Quran is very vague in discription so i totally agree that history has been changed to suit rulers of the time however i would like to see some focus or something about Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) family or Ali bin abu talib(saw) as they also were very influential even to our present day so surely they played a major role in shaping the religion and must have had some input in the qibla direction as you know the Shia have twelve Imams and the last Imam is said to have been around 232-260 A-H , do we know what point of view was during that period.

Hi Dan, great to hear you and watch your video again. This video makes me think, they dare enough to burn the house of Allah meaning the construction/ building (the kabah) means nothing to the religion. At time 3:33 … The phrase ‘’ He was able to remain independent until 689, when he submitted to `Abdel-Malik.’’ is not in the text of Book 15 by John Bar Penkaye. He didn’t write that, also there is no date in his full text. This is from the footnote 28 (at the bottom of the text) by Alphonse Mingana and Sebastian Brock. You add deliberately to the text of an author and you are presenting this to people as authentic! And you want me to trust you??? What a shame! Also, Sebastian Brock adds in footnote 29: The events of October 683 are meant here, rather than al-Hajji's seige of Mecca in 692. I agree with him!

The nine year siege ended with Zubayer loosing and being killed. So Zubayer could only have moved the Black Rock south before that time. He did not move the entire shrine, just the Black Rock, which could easily have been placed on a camel. It is not very large, and at that time was probably all in one peice. The Qarmatians broke it during their protests that Mecca in Saudi is not the true Masjid al-Haram that pilgrims should go to. Please check out the chapter in the book: Let The Stones Speak. Ibn Zubayr went South, here’s the story … Abd Allah ibn al-Zubayr was born in Madinah in 624. Ibn al-Zubayr was the first child born to the Muhajirun, the earliest converts to Islam who had been exiled from Makkah to Madinah. So Ibn Zubayr is from Madinah, if he went South he went to Makkah. In fact, to avoid being forced to acknowledge Yazid as the successor of Mu'awiya, Ibn Zubayr fled from Madinah to Makkah.

I am always excited and very grateful when someone spots an error! Thank you for letting me know. I have now made some changes. The Hama Great Mosque was rebuilt in the 1980s, and has a Between Qibla. It has been rebuilt over the centuries several times, so this adds a bit more of the story. The Hassanin Mosque is also very interesting, as its shape, size, and orientation hints that it may be a much older mosque than Nur AlDin. I suspect he just rebuilt it, based on an earlier mosque. I have not found any architectural or archaeological reports on this mosque yet.

Thanks dear Dan for your great research. I want to say something about this mater according to Quranic instructions & the archeological research done by you. --------------------- Bacca's Baitullah to Macca's Masjidul Haram~ ~Foundation of the first house was made by the prophet Ibrahim and his elder son Ismail at Bacca (may be Petra), which Allah has mentioned in the Qur'an as 'My House' (Baytiya), so It is called Baitullah or House of Allah. This was the "first Qibla" of Prophet Ibrahim (as) and the followers of Islam. Naturally it was also the 1st Qibla of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). ~Regarding Bytullah's foundation in Mecca- *Al-Quran- That you may warn a people whose forefathers were not warned, so they are unaware. (36:6) And among them are the "Ummi-Una" - those who know nothing of the Book of Allah except as dreamers. They have nothing but imagination. (2:78) ~If Prophet Ibrahim (AS) had already come to Mecca and laid the foundations of the Kaaba, then why does the Holy Qur'an instruct that the inhabitants and their forefathers there were not warned earlier? As a result they were all unware or ignorant of the knowledge of the divine book. Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was not unlettered or uneducated in worldly knowledge. Rather, he was chosen as a prophet from among the ummi qaum and was given clear instructions from Allah Almighty to warn such an ummi qaum i.e. community by revealing the Qur'an to him. Details are given in the following link- facebook.com/100031725759944/posts/pfbid02gVFNNyMNjkLw17j4utQzyHWMZWPZxegB7TUji3sdUKoLwsC3t2Qi22nZdDmGj2Enl/?app=fbl ~If the Kaaba was already in Mecca and Ibrahim and Ishmael (AS) came there and laid the foundation for the repair of the Kaaba, then the people there and their forefathers should not have been completely ignorant or unaware of the knowledge of the Holy Book. There have been many ups and downs and devastating events in the history of Islam. As a result, many true histories may be hidden behind lies. Nowhere in the Qur'an does it say to worship the house "Kaaba", or whatever is in it, but (106:3) it only instructs to worship the Lord of this house. ~According to the verse no. (14:37): If there was no cultivable land in Bacca then how did the people there get so many fruits as food for their livelihood? Therefore, in search of truth, this matter deserves to be researched according to the instructions of the Qur'an and archeological evedences. ~The Holy Qur'an instructed Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to warn the "ummul qura" (Mother of Cities) and its surrounding cities (6:92). Some researchers claim that "Ummul Qura" refers to Bakka i.e. Petra according to archaeological research. Because Petra was once an important trading area. Famous cities and ports are located around it. ~Recent archaeological research has revealed that, at that time the land of Petra was uncultivable. This place is described in the Qur'an (14:37) as having once been the an uncultivated valley. But the descendants (Nabatinis) of Prophet Ibrahim and Ishmael, (as) took a revolutionary initiative. They very systematically took measures to store and properly supply the water in the hilly areas. As a result, a large part of the uncultivated area became arable and they became self-sufficient in food shortage. *Al-Qur'an- Our Lord, I have settled some of my descendants in an uncultivated valley near Your Inviolable House, our Lord, that they may establish prayer. So make hearts among the people incline toward them and provide for them from the fruits that they might be grateful. (14:37) ~Over a long period of time, after the death of Prophet Ibrahim and Ishmael (as), the community of Bacca i.e. Petra turned towards paganism. As a result, Almighty Allah sent great punishment there. Some of the people who survived fled from there and sought refuge in the distant Macca. Going there, they built a cube-shaped house "Kaaba" in the style of Baitullah, but as per the old practice they indulged in paganism again. ~Historical accounts indicate that the people of Mecca indulged in idolatry in the Kaaba and turned away completely from divine teachings. The group who guarded the Kaaba at that time and indulged in paganism is called the Quraysh. After a long period of time Allah has chosen Muhammad as a prophet from the people of Macca, who were Ummi and indulged in paganism. Allah revealed the Qur'an on him. Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was given the mission of preaching the guidance of the Qur'an by Allah Almighty. But the pagans of Macca denied his prophethood and tried to torture and even kill him. Then he hijara to Madina along with his disciples. After the conquest of Macca this cube shaped house "Kaaba" was transformed and established by prophet Muhammad as the symbol of uniqueness of Allah. Allah is the central or main power source of all creations. Muslims don't worship the Kaaba. They only tawaf it like Baitullah & remember the uniqueness of Almighty and All-knowing Allah. ~The area surrounding the Kaaba is called Masjid-ul-Haram, where Muslims pray to the Almighty Allah and is an inviolable place. Historically the black stone carries nothing but the memory of the Prophet Muhammad. From that point of view it can only be a visitable object. There is nothing mentioned in the Quran about the black stone & zamzam well and these have nothing to do with Allah. Therefore, if anyone exaggerate these, there is a possibility of getting involved in sins like shirk rather than virtue. ~Prophet Muhammad was sent by Almighty Allah with the mission of spreading the guidance of the Qur'an to Ummul qura i.e. Bacca (Petra) and its adjacent cities. Therefore, after the death of Prophet Muhammad, his followers tried to fulfill that responsibility despite the conflict among themselves. As human beings they were certainly not above deviation. However, most of them devoted their lives to spread the unadulterated message of the Qur'an from one end of the world to the other. They achieved the impossible in a short span of time and their fame will be written in golden letters in the history of the world.

@@DanGibsonFilms It is undeniable a jewish piece of art but the story behind is to discover in all 3 abrahamic faithts ; the jewish horn-bearer is Melchisedek, the christian is Cornelius and the islamic version is dhul Qarnain, The humbled king/general/heir is Zebedee and his 2 horns (the Calf) represent his Twin (sons). they are also represented by the 2 'baby' elephants. Overall the scene depicts the meeting between Ananias (Albinus) and Zacharias (Festus) or in biblical terms : Paul met by 'light' (the ebionites led by Cephas) on the road to Damascus. A father and 2 sons is to find in the 3 magi/ wise men and by almost all the jewish patriarchs and of course it is the ancient concept of trinity. Mr. GIBSON, As Iranian . I study and translate Quran for decades and compare it with bible and history. These jews belonged to an antitrinity, apocalyptic Sect, trying to win new members among jews and newly christs to take part in everlasting wars between persian empire an bizantine empire with their arab proxies to gain more influence and earthy power. The Kaaba is not the building that is being mentioned in the Quran. The holy place of worship that the Quran is repeatedly mentioning is Masjid Al Haram, sometimes referred to as the Antique Masjid (Masjid Al Ateeq). The Kaaba is unfortunately not the Masjid Al Haram that the Quran has been referring to ! The Kaaba is a wording used by the Pagans of Petra which means the cube or the square. These buildings existed in Petra and northern Arabia a long before the monotheistic religion of: submission to the will of God called "islam" in Arabic which is the same religion of the Jews and the Christians being the doctrine preached by Abraham, Moses and Jesus. The Pagans wanted to continue the worship of the black stones in Petra represented by their cubic temples. Marwan ibn AbdulMalik wanted to bring an end to this practice, however the Pagans escaped with the black stones to avoid Persecution by Al Hajjaj. The Masjid Al Haram referred to in the Quran is the holy sanctuary that is sacred to Jews, Christians and the true believers among today's Muslim population. Marwan ibn Abdulmalik has built the the dome of the rock building on the holy square of the Masjid Al Haram being the common holy ground for all the monotheists.

You're brilliant. Can you please also cover the Armenian Syriac parts of the Koran, the "dark passages" and twisted reuse of the hymns of Christians in the current forms of it. There are 3 books, two German scholars and one Armenian-speaker scholar. The arguments are amazing but the books are only available (of course) in expensive used copies: Luling, Sawma and Luxenberg, authors. We need attention on that. Please share your thoughts on Christian narrative as well. To my understanding of the history of Christianity, Jesus never preached bible in his lifetime. Bible was invented by Paul the Jew long after the death of Jesus. Jesus never preached Christianity or visited churches. There was no church in his lifetime. Same is the case with Cross of slavery which Christians worship and hang around their necks. Bible and Christianity is an invented religion by Jews of that time. Could you elaborate on this keeping the history in front?

Psalm 110:1 A Psalm by David. Yahweh says to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool for your feet.” In other words, God is telling someone, to sit next to Him while he makes enemies submit to this person. Interestingly, in Islamic tradition, there is one that says that the name of Muhammed was written on the Throne alongside that of Allah. This has its own problems. Doesn't your name upon something imply ownership of the thing? Can Muhammed be the one referred to in Psalm 110:1? But there is a problem. The Quran says in 4:158 that Jesus was the one taken up to God. So if anyone is plausibly the one in Psalm 110:1, it is he. Anyone else is speculation unsupported by the Quran. There is even a bigger problem: Who has the ability to sit at the Right Hand of God? If a name, whether Muhammed or other, is written on the Throne of Allah, can it be any regular mortal? What do you conclude?

Today the rocks in Petra and known as Djinn Blocks. This is a name given to them in the last few hundred years. The original name of these rocks are not known. However, they were carved by Nabataeans and placed around the city at every entrance. (between them were high mountains and cliffs.) The center of Petra, since early Nabataean times has been a sacred sanctuary from pre-Islamic times. There is no hint that Muslims set up the boundary stones. They were there, and part of pre-Islamic worship. The blocks were not used as tombs. Most are just blocks. A couple of them had a shallow tomb spot that were used later. All over the Middle East, people were buried in places where there were previous burials. There are many WWI and WWII burials of Arabs throughout the Middle East, buried in ancient graveyards or at the spot of Roman buildings. I am trying to be very honest here. I visited Petra over 60 times, and spoke to many historians and archaeologists working there. Since over 60 mosques from the first two centuries of Islam faced Petra, I assume that it was the original Majid al Haram.

@@DanGibsonFilms You confuse Masjid al-Haram and Haram area (or Al-Haram al-Makki). Masjid al-Haram is built in the Haram area. In the Haram area you can also build roads, streets, houses but you can’t build these in the Masjid al-Haram because it’s a place of worship only. So, at time 12:37, when you say ‘’this is Masjid al-Haram’’ showing the Big Blocks, this is wrong! Maybe the Djinn Blocks are not tombs or funeral sites but the Big Blocks in Petra are not place to mark down the sacred area. They are carved by pagans near rock natural structure only. What’s the need of 3 Big blocks at the same place, on the pic you show? No need to put effort to carve 3 blocks on the same spot to mark a place. For Haram area, in all boundaries there is only one monument to mark one boundary. 60 mosques face Petra from the first two centuries? This is because you stop the lines at Petra but many are only pointing South, also because you classified early mosques from Arabia as unknown, etc… This is not fair. During the time of the prophet Muhammad, Makkah was near Taif and Jeddah. This is not the case for Petra.

An entire nation cannot just move their history from one location to another without leaving trace evidence for and in the original place. That’s not the case here. Your fascination with Gibson’s theory is blocking basic reasoning. There are GRAVES, MOUNTAINS, TOWNS, Terrains that support confirm Mecca. Again, if what Dan says is true, the Umayyad’s would not leave the capital of their staunch enemy rebel as the religious capital of Islam. In fact, you would see evidence of them trying to switch Mecca to somewhere else (maybe Petra 😉) to erase any legacy for Abdullah Ibn Al-Zubair. These theories fall apart because the OT is full of detailed mentions of Palestinian cities, villages and events. Yes many are mythical events and some city names are more recent than the alleged event, but this still shows they were making stories up around places in their ancestral homes. So, Ibn al-Zubayr demolish it and rebuilt it by changing its form. He modified the ‘’square’’ plan to a ‘’rectangle’’ plan to include the part where is the Hatim that he demolished, following a tradition that the prophet Muhammad had wished to do so. Yes, the shape of the Kaaba switched square to rectangle, a bigger building! But it didn’t stay long. After the second siege of Makkah in 692, on the orders of Abd al-Malik, Hajjaj demolished the rectangular Kaaba and rebuilt a square Kaaba and also rebuilt the hatim where it was before as to its original plan from Muhammad's time. The Kaaba survives in the square form till today. In short … In 683, Zubayr rebuilt the Kaaba changing the square Kaaba into a rectangle Kaaba. In 692, Hajjaj rebuilt the Kaaba changing the rectangle Kaaba into a new square Kaaba. So we can’t say that the Kaaba shape today in Makkah Saudi Arabia is the one designed by Zubayr. @@lautbry Dr. Crone suggested there were no Muslims, and I agree with her. Muhammad came preaching Hanafiya. Early Muslims were known as following the Hanafiya, and did not become known as Muslims until later. Please read Let The Stones Speak. It is free to download.

Dan, read your bible first before you declare your self know something, the Kaaba was in Macca way before Muhammad - “5 Blessed are those whose strength is in you, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage. 6 As they pass through the Valley of Baka, they make it a place of springs; the autumn rains also cover it with pools.” Psalm 84. Baka was the old name of Macca. The Kaaba was built by Abram (Ibrahim)

The prophet pbuh made hijra from Maka to medina took 3 days. Impossible to walk from petra to medina in 3 day. Petra cannot be meka.

Doesn't the word "Medina" simply mean "city"? 28:18 And he became inside the city (l-madīnati الْمَدِينَةِ ) fearful and anticipating [exposure], when suddenly the one who sought his help the previous day cried out to him [once again]. Moses said to him, "Indeed, you are an evident, [persistent] deviator." 9:120 It was not [proper] for the people of Madinah (l-madīnati الْمَدِينَةِ ) and those surrounding them of the bedouins that they remain behind after [the departure of] the Messenger of Allah or that they prefer themselves over his self.... Unless you want to propose that Medina of 9:120 is in Egypt (or the "The People of The City" is an oblique reference to Egyptians) and talking about Moses the Messenger of Allah, then you need to consider that Medina might be somewhere else that is within a 3 day walk. Because if walking from modern day Medina to Petra in 3 days is impossible, how do you explain that you can pass the ruins of the city of Lot in the morning and at night (37.133-138)?

you know why petra is in the bible ? why is the only religion that has a prophet being send to petra ( prophet salih) is islam. becouse islam solves the mystery. its not muhammed who was send to petra but it was prophet salih and propaply other prophets as well. we muslims understand this and we know prophets have been send to many places . but you christians are confused why bible contains petra. you have the name petra but you dont know the story so you are confused what petra is doing in bible.😂😂😂😂
