It is only in Nigeria that the government will be championing the cause of foreign refineries over a domestic refinery. We have completely lost it. Dangote refinery is not a monopoly. As the commentator has rightly pointed out the government should fix its refineries instead of using them as a conduit for siphoning billions of dollars. Dangote is just a businessman whose only "mistake" is his patriotism in locating his refinery in Nigeria. Believe me, even Saudi Arabia would have welcomed him openly to build such a refinery. Nigeria is the loser here. He has already said that his plans of investing in the nation's steel industry will be scrapped. Lastly, this shows the incompetence of our leadership. Very Embarrassing indeed, the main issue here is Dangote's Production of PMS which would expose NNPC's theft of crude and having sole authority to import PMS.. licences to import PMS was given to other Oil Coys' but they had no access to dollars to import, leaving NNPC with no competition.
