Wasn't expecting to hear a Dmitry Pirog reference here!!! A fantastic, often forgotten boxer. After he KO'd (obliterated!!!!)Danny Jacobs in 1 round , Pirog vs GGG was THE fight at 160lbs. Unfortunately injury ended all hopes and even worse forced pirog into retirement. Anyways!!! Just wasn't expecting to hear him being brought up in a breakdown for Yan vs Sterling. Sterling said in a podcast his style uses a lot of energy but he will keep going for take downs. Mean while yan just needs to improve his defence so if sterling keeps failing take down its over for him, because Yan loves attacking in close range even in the clinch and its nasty how much damage he can do with his elbows and punches, sterling needs to play it smart and slow because if he goes aggressive he will leave himself open for a counter and its lights out. To be honest i think steerling will be using his distance and moving around a lot but that uses up a lot of energy, while yan just walks him down, steerling needs to take him down otherwise it will stay on the feet and that's dangerous for sterling.
