I have a few questions. 1. What do you mean no food or drink in the room? I am not allowed to have snacks in my room? 2. Does the window open and does the room stay a constant temperature thought the winter or does it get stuffy in the room? (My dorm room at my college right now gets uncomfortably warm even if its 10°F outside) 3. How is the bed? Hard, soft, middle, and should I bring a heavy blanket or a few thin ones? 4. How do the cafeterias work? Do you buy a meal plan? (I looked on the website but it wasn't very descriptive...) 5. Anything you really recommend to bring, even for just one semester? Thank you so much, this helped me a lot more than some other room tour videos.
@YourDana06 жыл бұрын
Hi! Yes you are only allowed to bring food in the kitchen, but nothing in your room. The window opens and it stay nice and cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The bed is soft and comfortable and you can rent a pillow and a blanket from the dormitory for around 20$. There are different meal plans for the cafeteria, but i personally didn't eat there because i found it a little bit expensive. You should bring your own bed sheets but even that you can buy when you arrive for a good price, so don't worry :)

Hey, nice video :) I got a double room in anam global house for this year's spring semester and I was wondering if there is some kinda space where you can put your suitcases? Like can you put an average big suitcase inside those storage places beneath the beds or on top of closet maybe? Or do they just stand around somewhere in the room? Also you gotta bring everything on your own right? Like bedsheets and towels and stuff...? Thx in advance for your answer :)
@YourDana06 жыл бұрын
Hi! In my case, I had to leave my suitcases just hanging in the room, as you can see in the video, cuz the space under the bed was not big enough. But in the single room there was still enough spacw, however I was not allowed to get into a double room, and I don't know how much space there is :( You can in a way "buy" a pillow and a blanket from the dorm (around 20 $), as for towels and bed covers, you should bring yourself :)

Hi! No, I am not an exchange student, so I did not have a place for sure, and I don't think other exchange students get a sure place in the dorm. It is hard to get a rrom as I have heard. You have to apply on the first day when they open the application, because it is "first come first serve", and they have a criteria on which they chose the students. If you are a foreigner coming from another country "far away" and you are staying for the longest time possible (6 months) then you have an advantage. It is all written in the website. Just be sure to apply on time :) if not, then you can also rent an apartment or share with other people( when sharing there is no deposit most of the times). Hope that helps :)

Would you say me how you enter to the university please 😊😊😊😊

I applied on my own. You have to have a good GPA score and a motivational letter. The process is quite long to describe on a comment here, but on the website of KU there is a lot of info ^^

I'd prefer to clean my own space rather than relying on someone who can't really satisfy me, had a bad experience with cleaning lady...
@YourDana05 жыл бұрын
Well she just cleans the bathroom and toilet, but you can always clean again by yourself if you are not happy with it ^^
