This is a beautiful, beautiful song that I love playing so much 🎶 written by Don McLean I first learned the Chet Atkins guitar arrangement from my teacher Dave Crowden as a kid and for years I've been performing both versions merged together (I guess anyone who's ever seen me play has heard this piece at some stage) 💫 last year, I was honoured to perform at the All Star Guitar Night here in Nashville as a guest artist playing this as a duet with Muriel Anderson. She is so amazing, and playing it on harp guitar she really opened me up to some new possibilities with the music...
So anyway, I just wanted to share a beautiful song that I wish I'd written with you all and hope everyone has a great day wherever they are!

I'm pretty sure that a lot of people who listen to this, do not fully appreciate what he is actually accomplishing here!!... Like, at the very beginning where he is just 'touching' strings to create the Harmonics, without 'plucking' anything.... If you 'know' what I mean, then you will understand....No-one is better at this technique than Daniel...... 🥰

@@Charlee-w1u Sorry my friend... I find it hard to 'explain' as a Musician !!! hahaha... When you understand about '5ths', and harmonics, you start to understand what I mean... When the mere 'bounce' of the finger on a string can produce so many other notes, that aren't even 'plucked'... When one 'gets' it, you just 'get' it......

Wow! Hi Daniel. I just saw you last night, April 1, 2017 at the West End Cultural Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Absolutely phenomenal! You played Vincent wonderfully here on KZbin but it pales against the mesmerizing and captivating wonderful way you played it live. The whole evening was beyond belief! Thank you so very much. Anyone reading this... please please please see Daniel live if you possibly can. There's no other way to truly understand the gift that he and his music are to mankind. (And no, I don't know Daniel at all. I just experienced his being one with music and the people who listen to him.)

About 8/9 years ago in Adelaide, I was in an Irish Pub, playing the guitar with a bunch of regular 'Folkies' around a table.... A young lad came in and sat next to me. I did not recognize him.... HA... another young whipper snapper keen for the scene !!!.... He seemed new to the 'scene' so I explained a bit about the Keys we were playing in, and the typical chords we use.... Shortly, in a gap, he started playing SOLO............ (Yep, it was Daniel Champagne !!!! xoxoxox) About 15 seconds after he (you) started playing, I somehow shrunk as small as I could, and mentally slid under the table with my thumb in my mouth, clicking my heels together and saying to myself... "There is no place like home!!!" xoxox I was from THENCE edurmicated about the World of 'Daniel' !!!!

@@DanielChampagneMusic Yes!! The Daniel O'Connell Irish Pub In O'Connell St Nth Adelaide. A lot of water under the bridge since then. Now retired, and living in W/A. No 'Folkie' venues in or close to Bunbury, so I only amuse myself occasionally at home with the guitar... We've just found a monthly BlueGrass event here, which we are checking out in a week. I'm sure you are streaks ahead now!!
