@@zooropa5722 I understand plot development. However, stories also need to be true to who the character is. In my opinion it was lazy writing to portray Luke to be so degrading and disrespectful to everything and everyone because of failures in his past. In A New Hope Obi Wan Kenobi was in the same situation as Luke but was portrayed with dignity and still respected the force and what it means to be a Jedi. Rian Johnson along with Kathleen Kennedy wanted to destroy George Lucas’ characters and vision and replace it with their own. There was no fan service (as you stated) and Rian Johnson and Kathleen Kennedy had their way. Both are responsible for ruining Star Wars for millions of fans. That’s unfortunate. I saw Star Wars when it came out, and George Lucas enchanted the world with the first trilogy. It inspired a fandom that Rian Johnson and Kathleen Kennedy have taken for granted and abused. Aren’t movies supposed to service and above all entertain fans and movie goers alike? The Last Jedi failed to do that. 🤨🤨🤨🤨
