I have a DDM4V7 and love it. Also switched out the trigger with a Geissele and added backup iron sights.

I recently got mine in Deep Woods Cerakote. I’m looking forward to learning more about ARs. Your video plus the other reviews I’ve seen helps validate my faith that I made a good choice.

Definitely helped mine, Not so sure I would go two stage again,

I own builds from PSA and Aeroprecision. One day at the range a guy let me shoot his DD much like yours after I helped him zero his red dot. I liked the DD firing impulse, it was smoother than my rifles but you’re right about the triggers. My budget builds range from enhanced polished triggers to Giessle 2 stage sets so they are easier to fire, they help make the shooter more accurate but not the gun. The combination of your DD and your Geissle trigger must make a great combo.

The trigger definitely makes a huge difference. Thanks for watching and good luck with your AR's

I have one too, I also changed out the trigger. I would recommend changing the buffer to a H3 (from the included H1), it will shoot much softer and eject more consistently. I switched out the spring for a Wilson Combat flat wire.

Thanks for the info, It has me wonder if I should have bought a inexpensive AR and just swapped everything out for what I want.
@brad27713 Жыл бұрын
@@johnsimonelli9988 I don’t think so, the DD has a great barrel and is overall a high quality rifle, I’ve never owned or built an AR that didn’t need some “tuning” after a couple of range trips.

I must have gotten a heck of a rifle, or maybe the optic helped a little, but I sighted mine in at 100 yards with 55 grain and the mean was .7 in. Hoping with some more practice to get it down to about .5 or so. Love the rifle so far, and good shooting on the boat tails.

Nice grouping, I'll take anything under an inch. After all it is an AR15 and by any standard they say if you get 2 inch group that is the norm. Good luck with yours!!

Get the PLx compact! I own this rifle with that scope and the raptor reticle and it’s a game changer! Much lighter than the old Plx. Also added the Scalarworks mount to keep it all light and fast. Both impressive with one hell of a rifle!

Great groups with a red dot. When you get some form of magnified optic try the AAC 77gr Sierra. On my fourth shot I was hitting 10 inch gongs at 600 yards.

Have you been contemplating on some front and rear buis and a light? I really like my ARMS L-P and L-F buis and the surefire lights. After a bad experience where I was using my AR at night and couldn't see due to no light I made it a priority to get a light on every new AR I got after that.
@johnsimonelli9988 Жыл бұрын
I have not, I bought this to shoot for fun. I am thinking of going all out with another AR with a 13.7 inch barrel and a suppresor.
@Whitesp44 Жыл бұрын
It's a great rifle. You will get better accuracy with it for sure! I wish I loaded my own, that's they way to go. I think it's crazy, at that price point, the trigger is a run of the mill below average mil spec trigger. The rest of the rifle is nice, doesn't make sense to me. I bought the DD MK12 with a Geissele SSA 2-Stage Trigger factory installed but I paid for it! It's the only rifle I didn't build and its a shooter. Sub MOA all day. Thank you sir for sharing, stay safe. Like to see an update after you've put 1K down the pipe.
@johnsimonelli9988 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing, Shooting cheap ammo for fun is still relatively inexpensive and not worth loading, but the high end ammo at $1.20 to $2.00 a round is insane. I can handload 69 gr Sierra match king ammo for about 85 cents a round. The new trigger definitely helped a lot, not so sure I would do a two stage again. I guess I'm just an old dog set in his ways. I will give an uodate after 1000 rounds. Good luck with your setup!!

Own and run only daniel defense ar15s ddm4v7, mk12 18" amd mk18. I run the 16" and 18" with a vudu 1-10x and a 3-18x on the mk 12 and shoot DMR matches out to 700 yards. DD rifles are, in my own testing, the most consistent sub MOA rifles with 77gr SMK bullets. I shoot blackhills 77gr OTM and Hornady 75gr bthp 600 yds + regularly. They are phenomenal hammer forged chrome lined barrels. Still shoot 1MOA or less after 15k rounds!

Nice, I hope to do the same, I kinda like the Primary arms PLX 1X10. Thanks for the feed back and good luck with your setup.

How do you like the vudus? I've got a 1-10 vudu I was gonna put on a sr15 but am still unsure what rings/mount setup I want to get.
@kiteokoh2652 Жыл бұрын
@Joe Friday best 1-10x lpvo on the market. Eyebox at 10x is much better than razor 1-10x. Glass is as clear as atacr 1-8x. Weight is same as razor. I run a badger ordnance c1 in 1.7 height. My application is quantified performance matches and the 1.7 high is perfect for maintaining consistent cheek weld and heads up in all shooting positions. If I needed to set up a 2nd recee carbine with an lpvo i would use another vudu 1-10x. Eotech got this one right!

You should try a magnifier. That rifle is much more accurate than 3” at 100 yards. Even with commercial ammo. Your limitation on that set up is that you’re just using a red dot. Which already has a 2moa dot.
@johnsimonelli9988 Жыл бұрын
I know, I am thinking of a LPVO
@slowmo7500 Жыл бұрын
@@johnsimonelli9988 I’ve been looking at the Primary Arms PLx Compact 1-8x. I don’t want my gun to get any heavier than it needs to be and that LPVO is only 16.9oz. I don’t want cheap; I still want “duty grade”.. I’ve been waiting to see more reviews on it. The Razor HD, Eotech Vudu, etc are a lot heavier so that much weight savings is def something to consider.

Since you were unsure, it's pronounced Gize-lee just like you were saying guys as in, "Hey you guys," and taking on lee on the end.

@@johnsimonelli9988 Decimus Magnus nailed it- "GUYS-lee". Back in the day, I heard everything under the sun in gun shops, on forums, etc. "Gisselle" "Jizlee" "Gazelle"...etc., so I finally called the company and asked! The operator said they were asked that constantly, but the FOUNDER and OWNER said his family name was pronounced this way. What's REALLY sad is that I posted this on a couple of forums, even stating that this was per the OWNER and was his family name, and some jacklegs STILL posted different pronunciations after me, because "they had always heard it this way" ! 🙄 I own two and LOVE them. Good initial impressions video. Oh, and baby Jesus cries when you leave the charging handle hanging loose...😘

These rifles are a lot more simple than the nerds make them out to be. It is just a rifle. Rifles have different power, recoil, range, ballistics, but treat them like the Marlin .22 WMR bolt action that I was given as a kid.

The reason why you were hitting 3" with 55g is because 1/7 twist barrels like heavy bullets. I have a 1/8 wilson combat barrel 16" that shoots 1" @ 100 yards with cheap 55g ammo.

I have a few of criticisms (most are minor) with the DDV4M7: 1. Trigger is inexplicably awful. For $2K, I don't expect to spend an additional $200 and do armorer work out of the box. 2. Grip is too thin, no backstrap. And a finger groove? Just NO. Easy fix with a Magpul MOE+... oh I guess I have to get a new trigger guard too because the DD is attached to the grip. Not the worst idea in the world, I suppose... unless you don't like the grip. 3. Stock is just weird...difficult to adjust, sorry I know it's a personal thing. Don't like changes and all that - easy fix anyway. (same as the the grip) 4. QD slots on the handguard do not accept QD! For some reason, you have to move that mount platform if you change the attachment point. All in all, the important things are great: the barrel, handguard, BCG, ambi features, muzzle device are all awesome and built to last.
@johnsimonelli9988 Жыл бұрын
Trigger was a disappointment for sure that's why I changed it, I paid $1570 for mine, You can catch them on sale at eurooptics when they have them, Grips and the stock are definitely a personal choice matter and I don't have a lot of experience with the AR platform and I do appreciate your insights and all the comments on this matter.
