I interned for Letterman then. I was backstage during this. I remember when he was waiting to go on. Just a shy timid boy. Smiling and greeting everyone. I interned from Aug 2001- Feb 2002. Yes was there for Dave's first show back with Dan Rather after 9/11.

I was only 7 when the first Harry Potter released so I basically missed ALL late night appearances for the HP cast, which while by movie 4 they were barely children, makes the press for the first 3 films all the more fascinating
