Indeed, was no reason whatsoever to announce "backmarkers are not allowed to overtake". That's the real screwup also every driver complained about. After that it just snowballed. The real robbery was the first call.

It's simply really, as you can hear from this call it affected all of the drivers too. Breaking rules for the sake of "racing" is just an untenable position.

I like how they claimed "racing" was the priority, but by doing that they also messed up the races of all other drivers. Yea sure they weren't winning, but they were still racing just as well

One things i understood was that they just wanted Lewis and max to race decide who the winner will be and didn’t care about sainz who was p3 just 2 cars behind max. FIA didn’t wanted sainz to challenge max i guess

@@meetbhakta8534 wtf you on about? The reason why this whole debacle happened was to have a last lap duel between Lewis and Max. Thats why the lapped cars got moved out. In original comment you proposed that they didnt want max to be challenged, which isnt true, since backmarkers are allowed to unlap themselves under race conditions (just overtake the guy lapping you). So no, max wasnt safe from behind.

@@mave1273 He had no threat from behind, and certainly not from Dani. Sainz had pitted, and he had the pace to challenge Max for P2. Max had pitted for fresh softs and did not lose any positions for pitting when he should have. The way I see it. If Lewis had pit and Max stayed out, they would've went with the original rules and ended the race under the safety car.

Only Max delusional fans think that wasn’t stolen, with 17sec gap before safety, to 5 cars in between them during and with rules followed, Lewis would have won hands down. Definitely stolen

It's a late SC which is 50-50, if it's too long to fix then not pitting is smart, if it's short enough it's smart to pit, but in this case both

In the end, that would've been the right decision, assuming that rules weren't broken that night in Abu Dhabi.
