Dan always stands out in my mind as THE MUSICIAN I wish I could tell how much his art has improved my life. I will occasionally find myself tripping on the idea that the people who’ve made the music I love, aren’t making enough off their art to survive. Dan is always at the top of that list. Like, if Dan isn’t making a living from this, then the world is just fucked. It’s a genuine feeling that consumes me at times.

Truly, I concur--the fact such visceral phonic beauty can be crushed in the folds of a world wrought with so much despair and pain is discouraging, suffice to say. However ironically, I find the best remedy to this feeling time and time again is his music. A testament to his perseverance and quality as an artist in that he still creates increasingly beautiful music. Cold comfort maybe, but enough.
