Hahaha, OK, great comparison, very clever. -- Oh, but it's worse when you don't get the shaving talk. My dad just assumed I knew how and could figure it out for myself, since I had seen him shaving. Well, I had never really paid much attention to how he shaved, and hadn't often or recently seen that, so.... It was just me, a new can of shaving cream and a new shaving razor, at 15-something, when there was just barely enough fuzz to need shaving. Heh. I did figure it out, but I sure would have felt better if my dad had taken the time to talk to me a little about it. It was the one time in my teens he specifically said he was proud that I was growing up. Sure could've used that earlier when puberty was starting up and doing all those weird things it does. I loved my dad, but oh, man, in that area, he was so, so closed off. He had no clue how to talk to me, so he didn't, about that.
