Hello. I was on a hunt for a good cobalt violet too. I think I’m sold on carbazole violet. Thank you so much for taking the time to make the swatch videos. It is no small feat and greatly appreciated. I just love the Daniel Smith as well.

Woah, that mayan blue looks amazing! Usually indigo is one of my most used colors but in this case I'd definitely prefer the mayan over it.

Thx for this lovely swatch. I am using different brands of colors (as for the favourite Indigo - mine's Rembrandt), and am taking a closer look now which colors might give the final edge to my palette, or could replace discontinued colors. Of this swatch, Moonglow is a likely candidate, as well as possibly Fuchsite, maybe Amazonite. And surely Rose of Ultramarine, although that was on the first sheet. As for Color choices... hello fellow purple lover, although in contrast to you, I also favor earth tones - often need various skintones for my paintings.

The reason those greens all have PO48 and PY150 in them is because they used to just have PO49 (quinacridone gold) and the pigment has been long discontinued now and DS's replacement version is a mix of PO48 and PY150. We have also learned this year PO48 has now become a discontinued pigment as well and DS bought a lot of the pigment up to last years, but I would grab back ups of the convenience colours that include PO48 that you absolutely love and cannot live without. I missed out on a lot of the PO49 ones and I luckily was able to buy a set of a tubes that included just Quin Gold (PO49), Sap Green (PO49/PG7), and Undersea Green (PO49/PB29) I found on ebay years ago for a decent price and I am forever sad I cannot buy replacements.

The only reason I didn`t get their secondary set is because I don`t need PV23 Carbazole violet, but the Undersea green and Quin. Burnt orange it comes with are totally worth it, and you can save buying a set of 3. I also love Sodalite (deep, granulating Indigo-like blue), which, as a Primatec colour, is cheaper in stick form, although I haven`t tried sticks. Cascade green is a unique turquoise-green, imo. Viridian looks exactly like that and is harder to rewet. I think only M.Graham`s is slightly more pigmented. I wouldn`t know, though, how D.Smith`s one would be hard to reactivate.. I have Schminke`s Viridian and it`s absolutely fine. I bought Jadeite and it`s fine, but I later regretted I didn`t buy Green Apatite instead, regardless of the fact that I prefer cool greens. And, to my surprise, I love Rose of ultramarine and find it very versatile. Thanks for swatching, this never gets old))
